I recently moved from near Baltimore, MD to Martinsburg, WV. Some things I never even thought about prior to moving was that it was going to be a MUCH slower pace. Moving from a much larger metropolitan area to a city that I barely consider a city is a big change. Not only does it seem the norm to drive 5-15 miles BELOW the speed limit here (as opposed to 20 miles above the speed limit in MD), but there is also not really many great places to hang out in terms of nightlife. Also, I see TONS and TONS of roadkill. I didn't see that coming. However, on the plus side, there are beautiful mountain views, wonderful sunrises and sunsets, fresh air, less crime, etc... And, the first month I was here I saw two different rainbows within 2 weeks of each other. The stars are so big and bright in the sky, as is the moon... Beauty everywhere I look. [em]happy[/em] Sat, 21 Feb 2009 05:13:14 GMT Sreekala http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2084847.aspx i used to love living here but just lately i am starting to hate it more and more, the area is beautiful but my home is not as homely as it used to be any more and i feel pretty lonely here on my own, of late i have been looking for a new home, but not yet been successful, i want to move out and find somewhere where i am going to be happy, i have lived here for over 20 years, i have raised my kids here but since they have all moved out, i am alone, i have also come out of a 13 year relationship and i don't find any reason at all to live here any more, it feels like the 4 walls are closing in on me, there's too many memories which i choose not to remember and i want to make a clean break, i am searching for a home in the country where some of my friends live, it's about 200+ miles away from here, it's a beautiful town and it's just what i need, somewhere new and fresh, i am waiting to hear about a place but it seems to be taking ages, i am on a waiting list so i have no idea how long it will take for them to contact me, butin the meantime i have contacted other agencies as back up, i am not happy here any more and i just cannot stand waking up every day feeling this way, my home isn't as homely as it used to be any more and it makes me feel so down, it feels empty. does anyone else feel this way about their homes and have you decided to move on to greener pastures? how do you feel about living in the home you have now, do you love it or can't you wait to leave it? "A Sam's Club pharmacy in Salisbury, Maryland was doing last week. Sams' Club is a membership store and has a checkpoint at the entry where shoppers must show their identification before entering. But at this particular store, employees weren't just checking member cards, they were also promoting the in-store pharmacy by giving children prescription medicine bottles filled with candy. That's right, they stuffed Tootsie Rolls and Dots into real prescription bottles with real prescription labels and handed them out to children. I think this takes the prize for sending the wrong message about prescription medication." They did stop doing this and issued an apology. Since I have never flown I am not sure if this is an every day thing that happens or not. My daughter and grandson flew out last sunday to an airport in Baltimore, they flew on American Airlines. They made the trip there fine and had a great flight. Her husband is working in New Jersey and met them there and they have had a real full and tireing week and headed back here today MAYBE. This is where my rant comes in. My daughter, son in law and grandson spent the night in Baltimore last night closer to the airport so they could get their and fly out at 6am their time. They got there in plenty of time and the place was crowded and lines not moving much at all. She moved over to the self check-in and the lines were even slower and no employees helping the ones who needed help. Needless to say because of all the holdup they missed their flight and was put on standby, missed that one also due to one seat not enough. She is now waiting another 3 hours to see if they can get them on another flight out. She has no idea where her luggage is, it will probably get here hours before she does. If they get on the next flight out they will have been 5 1/2 hours waiting and that is longer than it takes to get from Baltimore to DFW in Tx. to my city where they are coming. Have any of ya'll had this much trouble trying to get home from a trip via air plane when you had your round trip tickets bought way in advance, at the airport in plenty of time and not able to get on the flight when you have done nothing wrong?
