Well, yesterday she had an MRI on her head.

They aren't quite sure what they found, but they found something. It could be a birth defect, it could be the remant of a stroke, it could be an old injury.

But, whatever it is, it isn't normal.

So, while she is going to the neurologist later this month, I would like you do send up whatever it is you do, for Dark4eyes.

The chances are actually better for the birth defect or old injury than a stroke, since she's had most of the problems all her life, it may be that a sinus infection has caused a problem with the anomoly in her head that prompted the MRI.

None the less, her mother had a brain anurism burst back in 2005, I think it was, so there is concern that it might be something she inherited even.

so, light a candle, say some prayers - even if she doesn't believe in them - it can't hurt her - whatever your faith prompts you to do. I would really appreciate it, I can't afford to keep the house going and care for the cats without her.

besides, I really don't think I can stand to lose another friend at 48 like I lost Elaine.

An Explanantion for my Absence AND A Prayer Request with Updates.

I wish to apologize to all of my friends here on mylot for my absence. I have been utilizing AC more and visiting here occasionally to read friends discussions. Recently a major event has happened in my life that has taken up much of my time. On January 26th my oldest daughter, age 32, fell and hit her head. The Emergency Room physician ordered a Cat Scan and we were delivered a good news/bad news scenario. The bad news, My daughter has a brain tumor. Surgery has been scheduled and moved forward. I am requesting you read the following articles to fill you in on my daughters situation and then to Please Pray for Bobbie.

However, should he not get it then one day it could rupture out of no where while he is driving in the car with our son or just doing whatever at home by himself and no one finds him until it is too late and he is dead. he has had it for four years and it hasnt grown at all. we are debating on if and when we should get the procedure done... his mother is very much in favor of it. What should we do?

My hernia surgery is scheduled for Monday

Now that all my testing is done and I have been cleared for surgery... I will go on Friday to have my preop.. where I go talk with the anesthesiologist .. and then Monday morning at 8 a.m. I will have the surgery.. so next week if you don't see me you will know why.

The surgeon told me that my first 24 hours after surgery I will be in the ICU, not that he expects anything to go wrong, but it is just so he can make sure I am watched closely. The doc says I am only minimal risk, so I am good and ready to get this over with. I'll be glad to get that big mass of intestine back inside where it belongs. He is going to reinforce the area with mesh so it won't come open again.

So to make this a discussion have you ever had a surgical incision open from the inside and have a hernia result from that? Did you have it taken care of?

I am glad to be getting mine taken care of. It has gotten bigger and bigger throughout the years as the abdominal muscle opened up.

[em]happy[/em]Take care! Let's hear about you now.

brain tumours now there may be other options besides therapy

right now, only surgery seems to be the option used to treat brain tumours and only complete removal cures the problem,

but now there is hope with new drugs to shrink and eradicate the surgery,

I know if I had a brain tumour, I would love to have a drug to get rid of it before I had surgery, I believe anything can go wrong with surgery. I doctor can slip with his hand and either kill you or make you a vegetable for life,

would you consider drugs first, or would you be afraid to try the drugs in case you might die anyhow and go right away to the surgery?

I don't think I could do this, in fact I KNOW, I couldn't do what this woman did.

>U.K. newspaper the Daily Telegraph reported that Marsh was unable to find a suitable anesthetist — so his patient was only given a local anaesthetic to cope with the pain.

And, when the cordless drill’s battery died, Marsh was forced to finish the operation by hand to save Dolishny’s life, the newspaper said. Marsh said he kept talking to his patient throughout the surgery to make sure he wasn't causing any brain damage.<

The surgery was taped, and will be shown on the BBC on March 30th

Ok first of all I have to know if you could stomach wathcing it? I can't couldn't and won't....so I hope that it is NOT broadcast in the US, I think I'd probably vomit if I saw it.

Would you go through such an operation, and would you trust the doctor to use a cordless drill, something you can buy at any store, and do the job by hand?

How would you feel if no anethesiologist was around and you couldn't be put down? Would you be comfortable with Locoal anesthetic?

This doctor travels twice a year to perform surgery that people can't pay for or afford, even if free could you go through with it?

I have. Both the nose and the eye.

Which eye(s) have you nearly lost in this way?

Which nostril(s) have you stabbed in this way?

What were you drinking when this occurred?

Did anyone see this mishap? Did they laugh? Did you?

Procedure

As many of my circle of friends on mylot know, I write a devotion, that I post on mylot.
I also e-mail that to about 75 people that have asked to be on the list. The e-mail includes a prayer list..specific needs that people need prayer for. Such as family deaths, illnesses, cancer treatments etc.
Today someone added the daughter of their friend who is going to have a gamma knife radiation procedure done in August.
Anyone know someone who's been through this? I've done a bit of research, because I'd never heard of it before, and it's a very delicate surgery done to remove meningioma's and tumors on the brain.
Just curious if anyone knew of a success story.
