Two sets of 3 in "boy colors" and two sets of 3 in "girl colors". They are patchwork on one side and solid on the other, all done in flannels and machine sewn. I'll be making more as well.

I've only ever used the auction format for other things but am wondering if it would be better to use Buy It Now for things like this.

Anyone with ebay experience who could help me out? Which way is a cheaper method? What are the advantages and disadvantages of either method?

Do TV commercials and magazine ads really make YOU think?

Okay, I have to admit, there are always funny and memorable commercials that comes on TV that endorses an everyday used consumer product that I enjoy seeing. When I hear the first two seconds of the jingle or dialog, I come a running to watch it like they are going to announce the winner of an Oscar for a year of good movies.
The latest one I've seen is about a men's deodorant under the name Axe Chocolate when a guy turns to chocolate after applying some under his armpits and he is bitten into and ripped apart through out the day by sexy women. My brain function, as abby-normal as it is, instead of being swayed to use that brand of product, I begin to wondering what he would look like after the deodorant wears off and he has large parts of his body missing. Yuck!
Even the toilet paper commercial where animated bears are going behind a tree with a toilet paper dispenser mounted on it talking about how soft the Charmin toilet paper is. I would have thought that bears just used porcupines and squirrels to wipe after expelling the digested remains of a careless Photographer.
I'd even think about the commercials about women's personal product's when two women in a unrealistic conversation are telling each other they don't feel fresh "down there". I don't know much about women's personal issues, but I suppose the words "Sckank" and "Hoe" probably should have been interjected in that conversation somewhere.
The Energizer bunny powering a city and Sports Utility vehicles being driven "off road". Everyday we are bombarded with these commercials and ads everywhere that has nothing to do with real-life use of these products. Do you really think about the story the commercial is using to promote the products, do you just ignore these commercials all together or do you blindly accept the promotion as it is and purchase these products on your next trip to the store?

He put a Mr. Frosty Ice Maker up for auction, with a starting price of 99p. The bids had reached £1.45, and there were two main people vying for the item, both of whom contacted my daughter-in-law, outside E-Bay. They both asked if they could buy the item, at a set price. One of them offered £10, plus P&P and the other didn't mention a price, but also wanted to buy outside E-Bay.

Now, my understanding is that if you put an item up for auction, then you're allowed to withdraw it, but you're not allowed to sell outside E-Bay, and not really allowed to sell before end of auction unless you put a "Buy Now", or "Make an Offer" tag on it. Quite rightly, I think, my daughter-in-law refused to accept, as she thought it unfair on other bidders who had submitted their bids.

The upshot of it all was, the person who offered £10 plus P&P won the item, for a mere £1.90, plus P&P. What are your views on this, and what would you have done if you had been my daughter-in-law? What is your understanding of the E-Bay selling policies? Was my daughter-in-law correct in what she did? Do you think the two buyers who contacted her should have been reported to E-Bay? Your views, please?

E-Bay Stores VS Auctions

Do you tend to buy more items from E-Bay stores or from auctions?

I've been bidding on two auctions today and keep getting outbit. It's getting me so frustrated, haha.

I've bought probably half of my e-bay items from the stores. It just seems so much easier to me, though sometimes it can be a bit more expensive.

What are your thoughts?

Are You A Bidding Addict

Ebay lets face it has taken the world by storm and most of us have at least checked out Ebay once or twice, or those that use Ebay as a money making scheme or use it to save a small fortune or to earn a small fortune (I never could!) too much time, energy and all your profits eaten by Paypal and tax etc...

Anyhow, have you even been addicted to bidding on stuff that you desperately want, but you know you are paying way over the odds for?

Do you get carried away in bidding, because you want to win the item, or you want to show off? Or you are so determined and so adamant that you will WIN that any money doesn't matter how much you will win it!

Do you get so embroiled in bidding that it takes over?

Or do you bid once and if it goes, then that's it, no big deal?

Are you a hot bidder, frequent bidder or do you just dabble?

There have been a lot of stories where there has been a war between two bidders desperate to get their hands on stuff that the price has gone sky high and things get crazy!

What is the one thing you sold on eBay that surprisingly earned you the most?

I love selling things on eBay and sell pretty normal things but every once in a while you will see a real strange thing that isn't worth much but brings in a bundle.

How about you, what have you sold that did far better than you expected?

What was your fastest sale?

I bought an old football helmet at a yardsale for 25 cents and threw it up on eBay with a Buy It Now of $19.95. I went out to my local antiques store where one of the dealers had several cleaner helmets for the same price and began chatting him up. I got home about an hour later (total time away - 2 hours) and it was SOLD! In less than 30 minutes! I was so excited...plus I had made quite a lot for such a short time! Anyone who participates in this activity will have their account cancelled without warning and will forfeit all accumulated earnings.

The vast majority of users positively contribute to our community, and it’s unfortunate that a small handful will seek to lower discussion quality for their own (perceived) gain. But this comes as no surprise, as any thriving online community must battle the spammers.

As fast as we’re growing, it’s impossible for the myLot staff to catch every violation on our own. This is where you can help!

If you discover a violation of the myLot terms, please report the matter to us by clicking on the boxed exclamation point on the lower right-hand side of any topic, response, or comment. You will then have the opportunity to “Report Abuse” and explain why you think that particular post violates the myLot community guidelines. We will then investigate the matter and respond accordingly.

Rest assured that each and every Report Abuse submission is reviewed and investigated. Not all Report Abuse submissions will result in action taken by myLot. We will have final say regarding any potential violation, but the Report Abuse system is the perfect way to bring these matters to our attention.

There are three boxes on the lower right-hand side of each topic, response, and comment. The plus and the minus factor into our Discussion Ratings System (DRS), and the exclamation point (as described above) is used to report abuse. Please visit our FAQ at http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx#useDRS for a detailed explanation of each box in the DRS.
