Now she is batised as Roman Catholic and I am Roman Catholic. We are not regular church goers and we sat down the Paster of this Berean type of service. He said they go on what the Bible says... is it crossing the lines to go to there service instead of of Roman Catholic service? Berean is more informal and they only do communion 1 a month and it is the first of the month. Has anyone joined Berean Community or switch over from another religion and how did you feel? I feel what the Bible says should be our rules and how we beleive in God? agree or disagree?

I raised this question because a young catholic mathematician I know said that if the Pope told her that 2+2 = 6 she would believe the Pope because he was the word of God even though she knew that as a mathematician it was wrong.

I also know a catholic woman who lost her faith in her church when she discovered the priest had lied to her. He told her that if she entered a church that was not catholic God would strike her dead. Well she did and no he did not even blink an eye.

How would you deal with the problem of your religion telling you something you do not believe? Do you ignore what you believe and think that the church must be right? What would you do if you church asked you to believe something you knew was not right?

Catholic Issues.

There were many people giving lots of questions to Catholic religion.Others is trying to crawl what has been catholic is believing, the most common is the Saints,Cross, etc.

Yes its true that catholic act like that because they are just refreshing what Jesus Christ done based on the Bible. But the thing is, it is their belief and we should respect that.

I was a catholic and I proud to be a part of this religion,in fact I was a member of Couples for Christ. I can pray directly with God and I was doing it daily after and before bed.Let me give my thoughts regarding believing images, cross or whatever. This theory was came from my father and yet he is not active in church or any groups, He said to me, My son, Do you know your GrandFather?(Yes)How he looks?(I get the photos and show to him).

For me, since we did not see them in real, there were people who act as a father or mother to let their kids believe their grandfathers/grandmothers work.

I want to set the record straight.....

about the Catholic church.
First of all I am not bashing Catholics as some that I know are wonderful people. (as I matter of fact other than me and my hubby and kids the rest of mine and my hubby's family are Catholic)
Second I am a former Catholic who left after reading the bible and not being able to reconcile God's law with Catholic teachings.

I have replied to several discussions regarding praying to Mary and other dogma. I have decided that in the interest of sharing the truth I would post a few websites that have some wonderful information about the origins of the Catholic church.

I welcome comments from non Catholics and Catholics alike.

However, it seems to me a selection requirement of celibacy probably makes the priesthood an attractive option for some people with personal, social, or sexual problems.

I know that the apostles said that one should abstain from sexual relations if at all possible, marrying if unable to avoid fornication, but it seems to me that it might be better for priests to marry. That is, for priests to be required to marry and demonstrate a balanced psychology which can interact with women in an appropriate manner.

Why do we fast?

Some time we keep fast for god. Your Opinion?

I think that as everyone knows William and Mary's college is a catholic college shoul they have to remove the cross. If is offends some people then they should go elsewhere. What is your opinion?

Removal Stirs Va. College Ccampus Sat Feb 3, 3:39 PM ET

As a Catholic, Vince Haley often went to Mass at the College of William and Mary's historic Wren Chapel when he was an undergraduate in the 1980s. Also a Catholic, school President Gene R. Nichol often goes to the 120-seat chapel alone at night to think in the quiet.

Both agree the chapel is a sacred space meaningful to students, alumni, faculty and staff of the public school who use it for religious services and secular events.

They clash, though, over what to do with an unadorned, 18-inch brass cross that had been displayed on the altar since about 1940.

Nichol ordered the cross removed in October to make the chapel more welcoming to students of all faiths. Previously, the cross could be removed by request; now it can be returned by request.
