Why do people rip on her about being the CBS Evening News anchor? I just don't get it. I don't watch the evening news much, but when I do, I watch Katie, and I find nothing offensive about her. What's the problem?

Poll of Voters Shows the Pastor Wright Episode Did Not Influence

In a poll conducted by CBS News and New York Times, two prestigious giants of media in US of America, 60 % of voters said they are not influenced by the controversy of Pastor Wright.
A higher rate of 68% of the voters have said that they are happy the way Obama has handled the situation.

This is proof that the stirring of Pastor Wright sermons was a badly managed campaign affair.

Katie Couric Leaving CBS?

I heard some rumors on the radio and TV that Katie Couric was considering leaving CBS for some reason. I also heard she was offered a spot on CNN and maybe her own talk show? Does anyone know anything about this?

I know lots of people don't like Katie for some reason, but I never understood why. Does anyone else know why?

Ron Paul's News Appearances

Okay, Ron Paul's campaign ads are now playing on the TV here in Texas. Even though I see his ads everyday, he hasn't been on the news very often.

Let me rephrase that, he has been on the news lots of times, but not for very long each time. The other Republican candidates get 10-15 minute segments on the news everyday. Ron Paul is mentioned but it usually lasts less than 5 seconds. Is this fair to Ron? Personally I don't think so.

And during the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, all of the Republican AND Democratic nominees were on the answer and question segment. But, I never once seen Ron Paul. Was this because he was busy with something else? Or was he even invited to participate?

The principal was to busy

>The student, Rasheem Smith, said on CBS' "Early Sh,ow" that despite their warnings about the student who opened fire Wednesday, Asa H. (name edited due to MyLot filter), principal Johneita Durant told them she was too busy.

Okay!! What the Hell was she doing that was more important than the safety of her students???

I'm sorry if a student came to me saying that another student was threatening to bring a gun and attack, I sure as hell would stop to take the time to listen.

Threats like this need to be taken seriously, no matter what. This shooting COULD HAVE and SHOULD HAVE been avoided, but the principal was too busy.

I think the first action is that the principal needs to be investigated, her role in this has now become a major issue, or should I say her lack of role.

Parents need to be reassured that their children are going to be safe when they get on the bus, or they drop them off at school, and the escalating incidents in schools, not just public schools, but colleges and Universities, is escalating at an alarming rate.

And until action and precautions are taken, this will continue.

Personally I don't think the security measures are effectively working. A school may have metal detectors, but how the hell does one get through with a gun? What do schools so think that they only need to be activated, after the kids are already in school?

If this keeps up no person is going to feel safe getting on a bus and going to school. That includes colleges and universities.

To make sure this is a discussion, how does this effect you and do you fear that next time it could be your students school? Closer to home?
