I really can't believe how many of you poor WorkFromHomeHQ members have been doing all that hard, hard work of copying and pasting advertisements just to find out that your post isn't even visible five minutes after you posted it!

I'm sure you're all dying to know how you can avoid jeopardizing your Craigslist accounts and have all of the things you post there show up 100% of the time, so here's my advice to you:

Simple, no?

It is true, beggars are choosers....

So, I sit back and think to myself now as the holiday season approaches. I am 100% sure it is going to be a tight one for me this year just as it will be for many due to the downfall of the economy and the overall prices of the objects in stores nowadays. However tight it is I know my little guy will have some gifts under the tree. I am lucky that he is younger. Expensive electronic equipment is not his thing yet. He would be happy if I bought him 20 matchbox cars at .99 cents a piece and wrapped each one individually. But if he was older and no longer believed in Santa Claus I would tell him what needs to be said. Mommy can not get you those items right now but as we get more financially stable we can talk about it. If you want an allowance to buy it we can talk about that too.
My problem right now is that I just got done going over the wanted ads on craigslist.com. I understand that maybe asking for handouts to at least give your kids some form of a christmas is the only thing some people can do. But seriously. If you are asking for a Christmas tree - DON'T tell me what kinda I have to buy you. If you are asking for an IPOD, but it HAS to be pink, don't anticipate I will read it. And I am not going to give you my laptop - although you will only take the darn thing if it is a Toshiba - because I have no desire to help those who demand specifics with what they want for FREE when the item itself may cost anywhere between $300.00 - $1000.00. I am not rich, I have very little to give, but if I can I will. But I just don't understand how people asking for handouts can be so demanding. Does anyone else ever see this and get frustrated or do you think I am way off line to think that people should be able to demand what they want for free when someone is being charitable enough to give it to them?

What is a good freelance job website with a decent referral program?

I was looking for a good freelance job website with a decent referral program, suggestions?

By freelance I mean like those bid and ask sites where freelancers can do jobs and other people can post them up and so on.. Looking to find a preferably free one but i'll look into one's that cost as well, thanks.

Craigslist Really Works, wow.

I have heard alot about Craigslist, but never really paid attention to it, or even gone to the site. Then I decided to sell our hot tub because it needed a pump replaced and we didn't have the money to do it, so rather than let it sit and deteriorate, I figured I'd sell it for $500 and someone else could get use from it. Really not a bad deal, considering the (new)breaker alone cost us over $100, and the spa over $3000.

Well, I went to Craigslist, made a post, and could not believe that a half an hour later, I got an email from the guy who just picked up the hot tub. Wow, talk about efficiency, lol! Anyone else had an experience with this site?

Where should I sell my used DVDs?

I'm thinking about selling some of my used DVDs that I haven't really watched lately. I have about 8 of them that I could do with selling.

Where do you think I should sell these at or on? eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, or at a pawn shop or used book store?

Have you ever sold DVDs online or at a pawn shop?

Have any advice for me? It is amazing how much junk you can accumulate within a few years time. I haven't had a yard sale in a few years and I am planning on having one Saturday. I really hope I can get rid of this stuff. I don't look at my stuff as being "hidden" treasures or anything, I'm selling it all CHEAP just so I can get rid of it. I have already sold a playpen to a lady I work with for only $2, yup, all this junk MUST go!! Do you ever feel like just selling all your junk? Do you have yard sales to get rid of it?

Strange Place To Find A Friend

Where is the strangest place you've made a friend?

I've lost pretty much all of my friends since I've become a stay at home mom, and I'm having a difficult time making new ones. I have plenty of aquantances from the neighborhood and my children's schools and activities. But no one I'd really consider a friend. At best I might be able to strike up a short conversation when we run into each other.

I joined plenty of online socializing websites hoping to meet new friends or find some old ones. I've not had any luck yet.

The other day I was browsing around Craigslist and found that there are ads on Craigslist for friendship. Some people post looking for workout buddies, some post looking for a date, and some post just for someone to talk to. I answered one, someone actually who was looking for a sitter. Not because I wanted to be their sitter, but because I felt a connection to this person who knew so few people, but desperatly needed a sitter for when she went to the hospital. I've been in that situation more times than I can count!

Would you place an ad on Craigslist in hopes to find a friend? Would you answer an ad for friendship?

Good place to shop

You can get anything at Ebay with the best price

Free free free (craigslist) but WHERE does this stuff come from??

I put this in *internet* but I should have put it in 'ugly stuff'. I was going through some of the listings in the FREE category. I cannot figure out where this stuff comes from! There are the UGLIEST pieces of furniture, the likes of which I have NEVER seen! Why would anybody buy a couch with a pattern on it that looks like it came from your grandma's shower curtain or the place mats from a set that was sold in 1930?? How about a pair of lamps that are olive green and have some sort of cut out pattern on them.... or yellow with gilt trim?

I'm just curious. I look for pictures along with listings all the time because just the words without the pictures could mean anything. Comfy sofa, needs a little cleaning - would (in my opinion) call to mind something nice - but when I see a picture and the sofa is beat up all to shreds and some multi-colored pattern of orange and green, it makes it highly unlikely I will pay any more attention to the WORDS lol.
