I'm traveling to Denver next week on business and I have one free day. I was wondering if anyone knows of some fun things to do in Denver. I heard the U.S. Mint is fun but that it requires an appointment for a tour. Any suggestions are welcomed!

Snowing in New Mexico

I'm so upset its snowing and cold (35 degrees but feels like 28) in New Mexico and its just October 29th. Things are getting covered real quick and I'm not happy at all. My mom called and said it was 99 degrees in Florida. How about you fellow mylotters how is the weather by you.

Which nba teams are going to the finals?

I'm routing for the Cavs and Lakers. That will be a really cool final matchup. With the way Cavs have been playing, I know for sure they will go to the finals and i'm pretty confident lakers are going to be the western conference champs.

The only reason why magic is up a game right now is because the Cavs had a week long rest and therefore they're off their momentum. But game 2 will be theirs. Who wants to bet?

JR Smith: Soon To Be Out of Denver

JR Smith, the Denver Nuggets' 22-year-old problem child, will soon be out of the team, at least by the end of the season. The Nuggets decided not to pick up the option on Smith's contract, meaning he will be a restricted free agent next season. On the other hand, they have picked up their option on Linus Kleiza's contract, guaranteeing him $1.8 million next season. That's how far Smith has sunk in the Nuggets' priorities: he no longer is a part of that list.

I think this is a good decision made by the Nuggets' management. JR Smith has done the team more harm than good during his stint at Denver. His growing pains are too much of a baggage for a win-now team like Denver, what with Allen Iverson and Marcus Camby nearing the ends of their respective careers. He could have been part of the Nuggets' future plans alongside Carmelo Anthony, Linus Kleiza, and Nene, but his involvement with last season's brawl with the New York Knicks, a car accident in New Jersey which saw the death of his 21-year-old friend Andre Bell, and a very recent nightclub altercation (where reports say he spit on the female victim before tearing off her dress) all adds up to too much negativity for Denver to concern themselves with.

I've read this article by Mark Kiszla (of the Denver Post) and it was interesting how JR Smith replied to his query, asking the player when is he going to grow up. Smith replied, "When am I going to grow up? I grow up as fast as I can. But, at the same time, I'm not going to rush it." I say to this, he'd better rush growing up before he make another mess of himself.

George Karl's reportedly exasperated with Smith, but believes JR has enough goods to be trusted on court. Off the court seems to be a totally different matter.

So there, I think the Nuggets finally made a good decision on their future with JR Smith. They don't want him now, really, and he wouldn't be that hard to let go if not for the millions of dollars they have invested on him. There might be a small window of hope for him to prove himself over the season, although by that I don't mean on the court. He must prove to the Nuggets that he can be mature enough to play in the NBA and on their team, and if he does, who knows? Maybe someone would be interested enough in him and snag him from the Nuggets, or maybe even better, the Nuggets might realize the kid is past his problems and match whatever offer comes their way.

And what if he doesn't? A dim future for JR Smith, that's what.

Jay Cutler...The next Elway?

Ok Bronco fans what do you think of Cutler? He has a canon for an arm, he's mobile and he's smart having graduated from Vanderbilt. Sound familiar to anyone? Can he bring back visions of #7 under center? I certainly hope so. It's been almost 10 years since Elway called it quits and the QB play since then has been less than desired. Brister, Griese, Frerotte, Beuerlein, Kanell, Chris Miller and Plumber have never panned out. Here's hoping Cutler can help us forget the dead period of Denver QBs.

Mike Shanahan Fired

I am shocked as I'm sitting here reading that Mike Shanahan has been fired as head coach of the Denver Broncos. This is an era where coaches average two seasons and this guy has been at the helm for 14 seasons! Yes they blew a three game lead with three weeks to go, and maybe he deserves the axe for that but for as long as I can remember when I see the Broncos I see Shanahan. What are your thoughts?

Who did you originally want to win in the playoffs?

I had no clue the Lakers and the Magic would make it but I wanted the Nuggets and the Cavaliers to make it to the playoffs and I wanted the Nuggets to win. I'm a fan of Carmelo, especially over Kobe. I don't even know how the Magic one because I'm not really a fan of them either, lol. What team did you anticipate would win the playoffs this year?

What team would you select to win 2009 NBA World Championship?

Denver Nuggets most them including the coach are hungry of Championship Ring except Billups but he wants to win it with Melo, Kobe want his 4th Title, Coach Jackson go for the 10th & highest coach ever. Our early morning flight was cancelled, and several others as well. We couldn't get on the standby flight, as we were near the bottom of the list. The airline was not much help, even rude at some points. This was our first time flying since 9/11. I thought taking off your shoes to go through security was a joke. Quite the mall Denver International has become, was not as much 10 years ago. Our flight was at about 9 a.m originally, we ended up flying out at 10 PM. Over 12 hours, and over $200 later, we were all too eager to get back. That airline now has contacted me several times about some complaints we made, and has given me a voucher to fly with them again. It was not so much about the time, or the wasted money, but all the people we spoke with from that airline did not seem to know what was going on. One rep even deleted my info from the first flight, and did not add me to the later one, leaving my info in limbo; stranded, which luckily my partner called back to confirm and had it corrected when he learned of it. The rep he talked to informed us that I would not of been able to fly, and after a few hours, the info would not of been there anymore, making it where we would of had to buy another ticket, or wait possibly a few days for them to get back to me with new flight info. They would refer us to call others in their company, who would always be in India, and had less knowledge of what was being referred to then the people we spoke with in person. The airplane seemed to be in disrepair, tattered insides, on both of the planes my chair did not recline and the headphone jacks did not work. Our returning plane had some mechanical problems that kept it from taking off for awhile.
There were a lot of odd observations, I could go on for hours. I did notice that a lot of the security is for show. I watched a lot of interesting things take place. I am just happy to have not been stranded there for days.
Have you had problems flying? How long have you been stranded in an airport?

who will claim the tittle victorious?

2009 nba series, its now down to 4 teams left, will the defensive player of the year Dwight depend the ring to claim the fame, or the mvp of the season Lebron James the king prevail, or could it be billups guide the denver to victory or will the heart of kobe sets to claim the NBA finals? i think it will be orlando magic will claim the tittle. who's you're bet? what do you think will happen to NBA 2009?
