I'm quite satisfied with it as I can do what I need like surfing for informations on the web, downloading, emailing, uploading files and other things on the internet. With dial-up connections, these tasks cannot be done quickly especially downloading large amount of files. Even email can also be so slow if you have large amount of messages in your inbox. So, is anyone among you still using dial-up internet connection today? What type of connection do you currently use? Are you satisfied with it?

If you use broad band or prepaid connection?

Hi friends, how are you. Do you get in a tizz, i.e do you go into pissy mode and want to break the ruddy computer?
Or do you just log off and take time out?
I have been a bit frustrated because I could hardly do any Mylotting today becaus the computer is so slow. So I took a lot of time out, there was nothing else I could do. My dad later said he will remove some cookies and download avast for me, let's see if that will make a change.

Are you still using Dial-up Connection?...

Well, if you are not... then good for you!... last saturday, i used the internet using dial-up connection... and i have forgotten how slow it can be... i wanted to participate in so many discussions here in mylot... but it took so long for a page to load... so i was only able to respond to 4 discussions... and after that, i simply gave up...

If you are still using dial-up connection... when do you plan of changing it?... for me...DSL or Broadband is a lot faster and more practical... since a lot of time can be saved...

If you are no longer using dial-up connection... when did you change it?... isn't it a relief to finally have a fast and easy internet connection....

Internet connection?

what do you use to connect to the world wide web? I am currently a dial up user, which sucks because I like going to youtube and videos take several minutes to load.

This is a great tool for DailUp Connections

I searched the web to find something that would help my dail-up connection speed up and I came across www.Speedguide.com. They have this downloadable software called TCP Optimizer that really does the job! It's almost like getting broadband connection at a dail-up price. What do you think? Would you try it out?

my discussion posted here twice..what to do?

this is because of my dial up connection.i have connected to internet with my bluetooth mobile connection.then typed discussion in relationships and hit the start discussin tab.unexpectedly my link to internet has been disconnced in the middle(just after 2 seconds).i have reconnected it noticed one letter is missing in discussion subject then added that letter and posted that discussion. Now i see same discussion two times and am getting responses for both.i dont know how mylot wil treat this?can anybody help me?

I just wanna cry....

I've been on mylot for 2 months now and have loved it - I've met some really great people, learned a lot of things about different cultures, people, and life styles. I have also had a lot of fun.

I am afraid however with the changes myLot is not fun for me any longer - I am on a slow dialup connection and at the time can not afford high speed just to 'play' on myLot.

With the additional ads on the discussions it is taking me up to 15 minutes just to respond to one discussion:( by the time a page loads to read, new page to post response, new page to tag, new page to submit.

So, I just want to let my friends know I will not be spending much time at all on myLot unless things change. I am NOT leaving, I will still read discussions off line and if there is something of major importance I will respond but the 'fun' discussions or ones just chit chatting I will not be able to respond to.

Also, please forgive me but I will not be able to comment on nearly as many responses as I have in the past - this makes it even more frustrating for me as I love the "discussions" we've had.

Please forgive me for posting this way but I estimate it would take me about 10 hours to contact my friends directly to let them know why I'm not around much. I will be keeping you all in my prayers and wish everyone the best of luck.

My speed is 256kbps, and I get 30KB per second transfer rate. I feel my connection is pretty fast, as I had a slow dial-up connection previously. I get my maximum speed when I download from Limewire. On Limewire I get around 35KB per second transfer rate, and a song usually downloads in 2-3 minutes. So how is your speed? Write your maximum speed, and what you think about your connection.
