The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam's Bridge made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long, in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka, reveals a mystery behind it. The bridge's unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 17,50,000 years ago and the age of the bridge is also almost equivalent. This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in tretha yuga (more than 17,00,000 years ago). In this epic, there is a mention about a bridge, which was built between Rameshwaram (India) and Srilankan coast under the supervision of a dynamic and invincible figure called Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme. This information may not be of much importance to the archeologists who are interested in exploring the origins of man, but it is sure to open the spiritual gates of the people of the world to have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.

SO NOW , WE WILL SPREAD THIS TRUTH ALL OVER THE WORLD. MAKE YOUR CONTRIBUTION - SEND THIS TO EVERY FRIEND/CONTACT YOU KNOW WHO IN TURN WILL SPREAD THIS WORD TO OTHERS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
Have a nice time.

Well thanks to the recent "reintroduction" of these principles due to the now famous book and DVD "The Secret", I'm really getting into this concept of "“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." (W. Clement Stone. And this can go for every aspect of our lives.

Well in The Secret DVD, there's one quote that leapt out to me and had an impact. It's this:

"Take The First Step In Faith.
You Don;t Have to See The Whole Staircase.
Just Take The First Step"
{ Martin Luther King, Jr. }

How often are we guilty of, that when something comes into our lives, whether it's minor or catastrophic, or a challenge, we want the issue solved overnight? We look at the issue overwhelmed sometimes wondering where or how to begin...We're looking at the whole staircase,...rather than taking or seeing the first step to overcome or embark whatever it is we want to solve.

Okay let me give you some examples here:

I used to be a successfully published photographer up until 1996 and then some "detours" came my way and had to stop my work, but I never once lost sight of getting back into my photo work again. Then four years ago, I taught myself computers, and I saw this as a wonderful way of getting back into the field of photography. I read one great book by Ron Engh "sellphotos.com" which got me thinking in the direction of selling my photo work on-line...There was just one silly hitch...I didn't have a computer let alone a film scanner to transform my slides into digitized images!! I had to rely on the free use of computers at the library where I was limited to use a computer for only an hour, and of course they didn't have a scanner of any kind let alone a film scanner---even the Internet place I would sometimes go to didn't have one either--But once again I still didn't lose sight of my goals. I knew somehow, eventually I'd get the ideal computer system--I did my treasure maps or "vision boards" and cut out images of what I wanted in life..including a computer system.

Well guess what? The mere fact that I'm here at MyLot means that yes, not only do I have my computer now, but film scanner--now the work has really begun...Yes, I envision having a website, on par with a fellow photographer like Seth Resnick eventually. I do have two photo websites but these are what I consider temporary ones until I can get that real "pro" type site, and at least I have SOMETHING for now to show off my work...Now of course I would LIKE to have this all accomplished like yesterday..LOL..but I realize the work that is involved...rather than getting overwhelmed by what I NEED to do to become a success in my work, I'm taking the first steps toward my eventual goal--Like on a regular basis, scanning my slides and building up a digital image portfolio. My one friend keeps asking me, "well like when are you going to start making money out of your work" In time, my dear, in time--I do have a few hundred of my images scanned already, but I have far to go as I ONLY have 21,049 slides...LOL...and the bulk of my photography I took while I had my sessions with my former therapist who took me out to various places. She doesn't seem to understand that it's not just scanning my images, but then "digitally" enhancing them and cropping them over at Photoshop.

Now when I first began to realize the work necessary to begin my targeted goal, I could have become daunted and overwhelmed if I was looking at it from the perspective of the entire staircase, instead for now I'm just taking that first step.

Then of course, my overcoming my panic disorder with agoraphobia problem--Again I can't look at the entire staircase and become overwhelmed by the effort to overcome this problem...Like for now, I can't expect to book a flight to Europe exactly....not yet, anyway...LOL--but the time will come where deep in my heart I KNOW this, that I will be able to do this...again...those vision boards help, as I've cut out pictures of all the places I want to travel to...But the key is to take that first step and challenge myself and take small steps that will lead to the bigger and better ones.

Okay another biggie for many of us. Health problems.
Do you have health challenges? I think we all do...From reading about many of my friends here at MyLot, I'm aware of some of the health challenges many of you are going through and may have had for years--and believe me, I've had my share as well. You may have had your health problems for many years..you can be in excruciating pain, but ah, here's the rub...are you focusing all your attention on the pain? Are you constantly talking about it? Well I hate to say it but what you continue to focus on you'll continue to get ...Now I know that's hard pill to swallow...like you may be saying..Like what or why the he!! do I want to continue with this pain, or whatever health challenge you have ---But lets face it...isn't it human nature to dwell on our aches and pains and health challenge..for who knows --maybe sympathy? Now I might be rubbing people the wrong way by saying all these things--and forgive me if I am. But maybe again, instead of seeing the whole staircase...whatever that health challenge is one is going through, take your attention away from whatever it is you have a health challenge. Seeming miracles happen all the time..people overcome cancers and so many other serious health challenges...so why can't we all? See yourself the way you Want to be...a completely healed person..and no it won't take overnight to do this...but instead of getting out of bed and already complaining about how terrible you feel...switch gears...throughout the day, from the moment you wake up say one simple phrase..."Thank you for my healing." Say it over and over and over again--You still might feel like crud...LOL..but keep saying it...get that mind to the positive.

I say this all since I've done my own switching of gears in thinking....For a long, long time I had very, very severe joint pain, and especially around my ankles...there were days I couldn't even walk right in my own apartment...just a simple act of walking was so painful...Then I started my little "mantra" "Thank you for my healing." And you know what? About a week ago, I got out of bed, swung my legs out of bed and got up and walked...I had absolutely no pain, not a twinge...and have been I haven't had to resort to any kind of pain killers or anything...I keep saying, "Thank you for my healing." So even in your healing of whatever it is...don't look at the whole picture, the whole staircase, just look at that first step..and say...Thank you for my healing

What first steps have or will you take to overcome any challenges you have--are you going to cease looking at the whole staircase and begin taking that first little step?

selling your digital photos online

If you enjoy photography and have a good quality digital camera, you can sell your
photos to websites specialising in ‘digital image collections’.
If you have the time, daily earnings can be as high as $400, so this is certainly
something worth considering.
Now, unfortunately you will only be paid once as the website will sell your photographs
as royalty free images. With digital photography equipment being so widely available at
a low cost, you can repeat this process over and over again for very little.
If you are interested in this, the best thing to do is to visit the following websites to see
which types of images they are interested in and more importantly which ones will buy
from you:

I wasn't making huge amounts of money, but the profits were decent - percentage-wise. I was set to upgrade my sales and start selling an ebook that I had written about selling digital wallpapers on eBay, when... WHAM! The new policy was announced and quickly came into effect, discontinuing and prohibiting any sale of goods delivered digitally on eBay. (Ok, you can still technically "sell" these items with eBay classifieds - but that really isn't feasible for my digital image wallpapers - not with the classified listing fees. If anyone has found a way to make selling wallpapers work profitably with classifieds, please, let me know!)

Reading the various blog posts in the aftermath of eBay's decision, I was struck by the number of sellers from countries outside the U.S. who were simply devastated by this decision - their method of obtaining a living was wiped out. Others took this news undaunted, intending to adapt to the new rules, and move on; many of them now deliver their digital items on cds or dvds. A few rogue and renegade sellers are still trying to slip past the rules and sell with digital delivery... although I would not recommend that anyone do this. (Account suspensions are not fun.)

So - long story short - how has eBay's ban on digital download sales affected you? And how have you adapted your strategies to succeed in this arena?

how to make sure your photo is copyrighted

How can you make sure that your digital photo is copyright, I am pretty sure its not enough to say that you took the picture, but you can provide the original digital image--its not like the days of 35mm you provide the negative.

So how do you make sure your images are copyrighted, what is the best procedure?

They are just a digital image that could be faked with photoshop or something. So do you really go for a program faster or more confidently when you see that stuff? Do you think people do?

I need advice on digital image editing

I have picture that I took back in 1999 on my very first low end digital camera....

The picture if you print it 2x3 (wallet size) turns out ok with minimal retouching

But to go any larger, and I'd like it to go to Postcard size 4x6 it gets very grainy and the colors distorted.

Can anyone give me advice on how to make this picture larger without loosing the detail...

Although I do like that I don't have to worry about my film being exposed or not running through! I do like that I can delete a digital image and that I can see it just after I take it. But for some reason, I think my heart is still with 35mm film.
What about you? Pretty soon there are going to be people here that aren't going to even know what 35mm means, like an 8-track cassette!
