If your best friend hadn't seen you in ten years would she or he recognize you now?

I am positive that my best friends from school, would never recognize me now. First off, I'm not really skinny anymore. I was the skinniest kid you've ever seen. Now, not so much. And, my hair is entirely an different color. So, I suppose if my best friend hadn't seen me for ten years, then she would not even know me.

What about you? How have you changed in the past ten or twenty years that would make you so unrecognizable?

Do you blame the other person or look for fault in yourself? Do you imagine that it must be bad luck or something working against you to make you unhappy? How do you deal with it?

When something goes wrong in my life or job, I don't usually look around for anyone to blame. First, I check to make sure that the fault does not lie in my own actions. Often it's possible to get a small detail wrong, especially when working on the Internet, and then make small corrections.

But, sometimes when I feel completely defeated, I do get caught up in a self pity game or finger pointing and accusations. That is not a pretty sight. And, not one of my proudest moments. Sometimes I blame bad luck or bad Charma. That's never productive though.

How do you handle those types of situations?

Do you ever forget to sign into My Lot before posting?

Today I was in the middle of posting a discussion, when I realized that I was not really signed into My Lot. Sure I was on the My Lot site, but not really signed in. Mozilla doesn't automatically sign me into My Lot every time I show up at the site. So, the site treats me as a guest. That's a big difference for me, cause Internet Explorer always signed me in first. For a minute there, I was almost posting for free!

So, I was wondering, do you ever forget to sign into My Lot and then do a lot of posting that you don't get credit for? Does that ever happen? Just wondering.

Do you check your My Lot private messages more than your email?

For awhile I was very active on My Lot and made hundreds of posts weekly. And, so I had lots of private messages from other members. Sometimes they were really nice and encouraging. Others were just spam and that was totally annoying.

For the most part, it was just plain time consuming to weed through the My Lot private message mail box and find messages from real friends that I wanted to read. Sometimes it would take up to an hour at a time to find what I was looking for.

I think I spent more time going through private messages than I did checking my own email daily. Not so much anymore. Now I get just a few private messages. But, unfortunately, I've started spending more time checking my Gmail account. And, that's become time consuming as well.

What about you? Do you spend more time checking your My Lot private messages, than your regular email? Or, do you depend on your email to stay up with your My Lot friends?

But, way back when I was really active, I noticed that a lot of members were really good about updating their discussions. Some would provide a response to each person that dropped by. And, so I got into the habit of doing that as well. But, I found it to be very time consuming and of course you know that means less money made here on My Lot. Not saying that posting on My Lot is just about the money, but it doesn't hurt at the end of the month.

During my last few weeks spent on My Lot, I would put in about three hours daily updating my discussions and responding to people that had left replies. I guess that was a little excessive. What do you think?

Would you ever put more than an hour daily into updating your discussions? How much time and energy do you put into providing responses to people that reply to your discussions? Do you think it's worth the effort to "keep the conversation going"?
