It was such an enjoyable experience. We got there before they opened at 10am. The lines were short and there is plenty of shade. The zoo itself is beautiful, and very reasonable. I love this zoo and was wondering if anyone can recommend any other zoos in Texas worth visiting this summer? On our last trip to the Ft Worth Zoo in Texas we ventured into the bird enclosure. We purchased several seed sticks and entered the enclosure. This is a very large enclosure that is filled with free flying birds. You hold out the seed sticks and the birds will land on you and eat the seeds off of the sticks. My six year old son loved this! At first he was a little bit scared, but warmed up to it very quickly! The birds are so beautiful. It was a wonderful feeling to be in this enclosure with all these birds flying around you!
