Often because they are hurt themselves because their relationship failed. My ex once broke up with me by letter that she sent to my job. Ouch! Another friend of mine who edits a disability rights magazine broke up with her boyfriend, who's also my friend, in her monthly editorial column. She didn't call him first. She just published it in the magazine. Everyone he knew knew he was getting dumped before he did. They never spoke again after that. What's the worst way someone's ever broken up with you?
