I was wondering if anyone else felt like this or could relate to this as a side effect of getting this removed?

Anyone Using Implanon?

Hi there,
I have had the implanon implant in, for 2 months now, and at first i think it gave me mood swings, but I don't know if that was from lack of sleep (i have a new baby too) or from the hormones. But one thing that is bothering me is, i have been bleeding and spotting for about 8 weeks now! The longest i haven't bled for is two days! Is anyone else experiencing this? Or any other side effects?
Does anyone have any opinions on implanon?
I am currently in a trial study for women who bleed frequently with implanon. In march i should be getting a hysteroscopy done where they will take pictures of the lining of my uterus, and also take a sample. Then i will be given one of four treatments (one of them being a placebo, i hope i dont get that one!) and then they will be able to see if that helped with the bleeding or not. I'm a bit excited about all of this, because i want to stay on implanon, i just don't want to bleed anymore! I am afraid if i take it out, and go on the pill i will fall pregnant or something, and i am not ready for another baby!
(If anyone is in Western Australia and wants to do the study, let me know and i'll give you the information)

What do you think about copper IUD's?

I am very nervous about getting a copper IUD. I have read that in the past people have develped infections which werent known about and caused them to be sterile when they were ready to have children. I have two children and don't want anymore right now but I know that I do want more in 5 years or so. I have a lot of trouble with hormonal changes so taking the pill was never a good thing made me way to moody. I take Zoloft for depression. I have heard that implanon the plastic IUD works well but it does have small doses of hormones which I don't want. Just the thought of copper being put in my body sounds scary as well as the complications that could arise. What do you suggest? Do you have an IUD and have you ever had a problem with it?

Birth control

Which is the best birth control out there?

I've had my implanon taken out.............

Hi, I have just had my implanon taken out. My girlfriend has absence-type epilepsy, and is considering going on the rod (Implanon). However, when trying to work out whether it's safe for her to take Zarontin with the Implanon, we've gotten mixed results. Some sites say Zarontin is an enzyme-producing drug and thus weakens the effects of Implanon, and others say it's non-enzyme-producing and thus safe to take. Which is it, anyone know?

If not, is there any alternatives to taking Zarontin for absence-type epliepsy that she CAN take on the rod? Besides Valporate, that stuff can screw up your liver something chronic!

I don't need any guys coming in here saying "I use nothing!" or some other lame response.

I actually went with the Depo Shot which is a needle you get every 3 months. I always heard horrible things about it but it's been working for me for a little over a year now. I don't suffer any horrible side effects like weight gain or mood swings.

How bout you ladies out there?
