It was my first time to get contacted with the professional officors and managers. I felt greatly nervous from the beginning.
The moment when I was asked to introduce myself I even don't know how to speak……Do I need to be aggressive or humble? What kind of question should I prepare before the interview? How can I know if I have done well or not during the process?
And of course, it comes the most inevasible problem---how can I overcome the nervous tension?

One page resumes

I have been told that resumes should be no longer than 1 page because the employer doesn't want to spend too much time reading. I have just updated my resume but it is impossible to get everything on just one page. I don't want an employer to take one look at my resume and discard it just because they are too lazy to read the whole thing. I was told recently that this is not true anymore; that it's okay to have 2 pages. Does anybody know?

Microsoft's new website for job seeker

Hello everyone here Ji,

It was one of the quickest interviews I have ever done. I think the whole process lastest 15 minutes and that included introductions by the panel!!

So, I arrive early as I always do. I hate being late. I check in with the personnel office and they tell me where I need to wait for someone to come and get me. A short time later, a woman comes to the hall where I am waiting and escorts me into this very small office. In this very small office is a very small table with four people (including my escort) and the empty chair for me. Handshakes and quick greetings commence. Then I am invited to sit.

Ok, so of course I sit (what else am I gonna do) and I get the introdutions of the panel. At this point I am thinking they are going to ask me to tell them a little about myself as has been the case in most other interviews I have been at. Nope. Not this one. They start right in on the questions. They each take turns asking questions and everyone is frantically scribbling notes when I answer.

I was actually surprised at the questions. I really expected the typical "what is your greatest weakness" type of questions. Instead these people had actually taken the time to have questions that related to the job. The job I interviewed for was an administrative assistant with a legal background. They asked me to explain how I would screen phone calls and visitors to the office. How I would set up a new filing system. And they even had a scenario where I had to prioritize some items for the attorney and then explain why I put them in that order. And STILL the whole thing was done in 15 minutes.

I also expected at the very end to hear the standard question "so do you have any questions for us" line, but I didn't. They asked the last question (which I didn't know was the last one) and as soon as they had finished scratching out all their notes, they all stood up together, did the hand shakes again and I was invited to leave the room and to close the door behind me when I left. I couldn't believe it!!

I can usually tell if I have done well in a situation or not and this time I have no clue. I am very hopeful that things went well because the job would be the bomb!!!! The pay is out of this world for the job I would have to do and the benefits are unreal. It would be the ultimate opportunity for me!! But now I have to wait and see. And the worst part is I have no idea how long I will have to wait!!

Ok, I had to share a bit of my latest experience. I have another interview with another company on Friday and I am hopeful that I will do well at that interview as well.

Now, how about ya'all tell me about some of your interview experiences!! Help me take my mind off of mine!!!

Guide me...To develop a new website for job seekers an employers

Yeah this is part of knowing what people want..
