Please, read this article about sky rocketing knife crime in the UK.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007380447,00.html

As a solution, it is suggested in the article that mandatory sentencing be legislated for individuals audacious enough to carry a knife.

I suggest responsible honest citizens be liscensed and permited to carry a concealed handgun. Further, that these legally armed citizens be allowed to shoot anyone who tries to rob them at knife point.

Based on crime rates in the USA which went DOWN where ever legal concealed carry is allowed, the fact a criminal would never know when he might be facing an armed citizen would reduce knife crime in the UK.

What's your idea of how knife crime could be reduced in the UK?

When giving your answer, remember, if a criminal can't get a gun, they use a knife, so,certainly if they can't use a knife they will use a rock. Your answer should be useful for no matter what the criminal might choose as his weapon.

For this reason I like honest citizens being allowed to use a gun and any criminal with a gun gets thrown under the jail.

How often and how do you do it?

I am talking about sharpening kitchen knives here by the way! [em]lol[/em] Ours get blunt all the time and it can be dangerous to use a blunt knife! I have some strange hand held thing that I put the knife blade through to make it sharp and I do this every week or so. What about you? Do you sharpen your knifes too? How often?

Are you accident prone in the kitchen?

I'm a very accident prone person in the kitchen.
You might say I'm a kitchen clutz.

For several years, I had to ban myself from using
knives or sharp objects in the kitchen cause I was
always cutting myself by accident. A little nick here.
A little chip there. I was losing skin right and left.

And, then I went through a phase where I burned
my hand on the toaster by accident almost daily.

So, I had to stop using my toaster oven.

(Same thing happened with my iron, but that's another story.
Needless to say, I rarely iron anymore.)

I've had three or four really bad slip and fall
accidents in the kitchen, especially when my refrigerator
defrosts water onto the floor.

About three years ago, I hit a water puddle on my kitchen floor
and fell sideways onto my arm. It hurt so bad that I thought I'd broken
the arm for awhile.

Last week, I was cutting onions and squirted onion juice into my eye!
I think someone is sending me signs that it's time to give up cooking!

Are you clumsy in the kitchen?

There was everything from life questions (what should I do to make my guy marry me, opps I might be knocked up, my kid is teething) to just stuff things (which way do your knifes point, what's your favorite color, a MyLot ghost)

So where do you get your topics at?

I started a list of what I wanted to blog or post about. Do you keep a list?

would you go for cosmetic surgery if you think you are not enuf beautiful?

my frend has little odd nose.So she spent good amount on it and reshaped it.

Why?

An actor cuts his own throat live on stage in Vienna in the play of Mary Stuart.

He was pretending to cut his throat with a blunt "prop" knife instead with a real one.

Somebody might have exchanged the knifes, police officer told the press as they announced, that even the price tag was on the knife.

It seems the crew forgot to dull the new bought knife so that it wouldn't be dangerous. Other voices told the press perhaps someone wanted to kill the actor like a jealous rival.

What do you think?

Did this happen purposely or just accidently or is there more behind this "accident"?

wife - life - knife ....

Hi, I will say that wife will be a man's life. But some may feel that their wife are turning to be knifes placed right on their neck. Some may even say that there days with their wifes is as though "Walking on a knife". Is it all true experiance?

For some, at a early stage wife is their life and then start turning to knife. Why does that happen? Is it problem with their wife or problem with the men ???????? Your views on this please ...

I often use the long knife and the utility knife. I use the utility knife or paring, for chopping onions, for chopping garlic and any small piece ingredients. I use the larger knife when I slice meats, fish and chicken and beef too. I use the utility knifes oon vegetables too and on fruits. I really prefer the utility knife because it is easier to handle and easier to clean too.

How about you guys, how many knives do you own and how often do you use it?

With the current knife crime, one would have thought the store would have had a thorough look at this merchandise and thought this one through[em]whistle[/em] sale or no sale...[em]rolleyes[/em]
It does make one wonder who designed, who stocked and who is selling these items? What if they'd gone into the wrong hands?

Anyone come across the story? What do you/did you think of it? Have you come across any similar awkward or inappropriate and dangerous fashion accessories?
