I used to practice a lot more towards the beginning, between 2-5 hours a day. I generally don't practice as much now although I tend to practice somewhere between 5 and 10 hours a week. How often/ long do you practice at your instrument? By practice time I mean working on technical skill, ear training, etc but not writing your own music or just playing something you already know.

What instruments can you play? Or what do you want to play?

I have been taking piano lessons for just over two years now. The piano is my favorite instrument. It can be very simple to play yet had endless possibilities.

I like a lot of other instruments- horns, violins, etc. I would play them if I could but they are too expensive for me right now.

What's you favorite instrument, and what if any can you play? Here's a partial list to get you thinking: piano, guitar, horns, drums, flutes, violins, cellos, saxophones...

Which Keyboard Brand Do You Prefer?

There are many keyboard brand available all over the world. I have only played using Yamaha, Roland, Korg, and Technics keyboard. All of them certainly have unique features, pros, and cons.

I prefer Korg for a Synthesizer since Korg is very great at mixing sound together (I have used Triton). For an Arranger Keyboard I certainly prefer Yamaha keyboard. New Yamaha keyboard are developed with great technology, they offer so many creative style and sounds. Recently I am using PSR S900 series, it's a very great stuff. For Roland brand, I don't really like newer Roland brand since they are a bit difficult in operation and the sound quality is below Yamaha keyboard in average for keyboard with same price range.

What about you? Which Keyboard brand do you prefer and why do you prefer it?

wanting to buy a new keyboard/workstation

i need suggestions on which keyboard to buy from all the real piano players out there. i started out playin on a roland xp 30 and 10, but i picked a mm6 that got stolen . like it because it was easy to pack up every weekend to go play since im in college. but im more interested this time in buyin something a lil better that will help me with my music production side also and writing and composiing. i like all the keyboards especially fanthom, motif, korg m3, triton etc... also like the xp 80 ... but ne suggestions pls

I got a new multi effects pedal

I bought myself a Korg ToneWorks multi effects pedal yesterday. It took me about two hours but I figured out how to use some of the settings, I haven't totally figured out how to use it yet though. I was a bit disappointed with the delay setting as I don't think you can change the delay time. However, there's a pitch shifter setting on it that I think sounds really great. Just on the off-chance that anyone is interested, I uploaded a couple of videos of myself using the pitch shifter setting and they can be seen here http://www.vimeo.com/668036 and here http://www.vimeo.com/667365

Does anyone else use a multi effects pedal? If so, what are your favourite settings? And how long did it take you to learn how to use all the settings?

I suspect this discussion will get little or no responses, but I'll post it anyway.:)

Producing music with computers?

I am one of those computer music geeks who started making music with so called trackers in early 90´s. Today I have Reason 2.5, Wavelab, cool edit and Korg Electribe EM-1 and some other music gear.

Anyone who makes music with computers?
What´s your gear and software you like to use?

evanescence my inspiration ;)

sound guitar is very hard and crunch, find in effect POD
