My husband wants to be the only one to do it. I don't mind but I would like to try the riding mower sometime. Some of our neighbor's wives mow their lawn. Do you?

Mow your lawn or go to jail!

In Canton, Ohio, "The city council unanimously passed a law Monday that makes a second high-grass violation a fourth-degree misdemeanor carrying a fine of up to $250 and as many as 30 days in jail." Man oh man! We can get a notice in our town, and if we don't comply within the time limit, they will send someone out to do it for you and you have to pay the bill. That's quite a bit of difference from going to jail! Wow! What do you think of this?

I really didn't mind that I had to mow the grass....again. Currently I mow about 2 acres every week. It needs it more often, but it's not getting mowed any more often than once a week. Most of it can be mowed with the riding mower which makes it more of a pleasure than a chore. But I have a lot of mowing that I use a push mower for and then I have to use the battery powered weed eater, Black & Decker cordless, which I just love and have used it A LOT!! This is the largest yard so far that I have to mow, I used to mow 1 acre with a push mower, now that's work! How big is your yard and how often do you have to mow it? If the weather were as nice as today all year long, I wouldn't mind doing this year round, but I know winter is coming next.

Do you mow your grass after dark?

I'm not kidding when I say this, but our next door neighbor is cutting his grass in the dark. Actually, right now, he's next door mowing the grass and it is pitch black outside, almost ten PM! And, except for a tiny back porch light, I'm pretty sure there's no other lights out. Unless you count moon light. Can you believe it!

I'm sure he'll get lots of complaints from the other neighbors (not me, I'm a live and let live type of person). I'm surprised someone hasn't called the police yet. Though I guess he's not causing any harm by cutting his grass so late in the evening. I'm just surprised anyone would want to cut grass by the light of the back porch.

Have you ever heard of someone cutting their grass after dark? Have you ever done that?

How Old Were You When You Had Your First Real Job?

I was 8 years old when I had my first real paying job. I had a paper route that I did on my bike after school each day. I had to collect money at the end of each month which was the scariest part of the job. I had to go to each persons door and tell them I was collecting for the paper. I was told so many reasons why a person could not pay, it was pathetic. I learned at a very young age, people want service but do not always want to pay for it. How old were you when you had your first real job?
