They do this every Monday night around 6:30. The kids sit around and listen to the librarian tell stories. Sometimes they'll sing in between stories. After the story they do arts and crafts, and then will have a small snack.

Does your library offer story time? Do you bring your children to it?

Internet?!? For people who graduate from management studies, I noticed that they regret taking those course up and studying for 3-4 years things that they ate discover they hate.
I'm wondering if any of you folks took up learning a specific study and now find yourself lost and wanting to study or work in a completely different field. and if so, what do you plan on doing?

Noisy Kids in Library

I go to the library to get some peace. Sometimes I just need to get away from the kids for an hour and just have "me" time. So I go to the library, get a couple of books and find a nice quiet corner to sit and read. Quiet? Not quite. I'm telling you every single time I go to the library the noise level gets worse and worse. Why? People bring their children (not a problem if they can behave). I'm talking about people who let the kids run around and scream, fight, yell across the isles and the parent DOESN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! What is wrong with these parents? It's a library. You're supposed to be quiet. This screaming went on for a half an hour. I wanted to say something but felt it was up to the librarians. Should I have? Would you?

Reading Book, I never was the one to read books

I do a lot of reading over the internet, and I have just started reading books, going to the Library and getting different books, they have all kinds of books. Have anyone ever purchased an ebook online. or just tell me what kinds of books do you read?

Compromise - When there is only 1 computer but 2 people wanting to use!

One of my daughters is back home at the moment and now wants to be online on the computer as much as I do. It is fabulous having her home, but my time on MyLot has gone down big time in the last few days, so apologies to all my friends if I haven't been responding as much as usual but I have to allow her her time on another site to talk to her friends too. How do I get the balance right? I have even considered getting a laptop and going wireless so we both can use at same time. Does this happen in your household and if so how do you compromise? Please share. I like some nonfiction things, things that will help me or benefit me. I also like renting babyeinstein for sophia.Today I got a book that is 10 minute clutter control room by room. It sure is nice because I have a baby haha
So how often do you go and what to do you like to look at?

Do you think internet will replace libraries?

People now a days simply Google them in looking for a wide range of informations.

I'm not against our librarian's way of doing her job. It's just that she herself had done worse than those students who were talking among themselves. I mean, the students are only talking among themselves and they don't create a really big noise which disrupts other students reading. Instead, the noise only got bigger when the librarian scolded them and gave out a very long sermon on library policies and it really disturbed a lot of students who are reading. I just wish she would learn how to approach students in a manner as to not disturb those who have nothing to do with the case.

Why I hate the library....I swear I returned it!!!

I finally broke down and went to the library. But I only broke down enough to get some cook books and a book my daughter that she couldn't get in school because they wouldn't check the book out during break....ok, I got a few for the younger children while I was at it too. Well, when I was there, a book caught my eye and it sounded good, so I checked it out also.
It turned out to be a book that I just dragged my butt on reading because I didn't like it. If you are familiar with my discussions...yes, I finally finished that book!

So, I returned the books last night but kept a couple books that I needed to renew that were for the younger children. I decided that I would renew the kids books online. But when I went in to renew, I saw that one book that I dragged butt on was still showing checked out! No problem, they probably didn't get to check everything back in, right? After all, it was only earlier in the evening that I returned the books. So, just to make sure, I checked again today and it still showed as being checked out!

I had to call and talk with them because I did return it! When I spoke with the lady, Tina, she said that she would check the shelf. But when she came back to the phone, she said it wasn't there! What? I then calmly explained that I had returned it the night before with other books that all show returned. But she said it wasn't there. Grrrr I asked how I could fix this if I know I turned it in.
She then told me that she would mark my account as the book being missing and told me that if I found it, I could turn it in.
IF I FOUND IT????? Your kidding me right? But I was still nice and told her it would be impossible for me to find it because I turned it into their library the night before and I didn't want a negative mark on my library account. She then said that she believed me. Catch that, she said she believed me! And she continued to tell me that she would mark it as missing and I would not be charged for it. But if I found the book, I could return it without having a late fee.
Wait...didn't she just tell me that she believed me?
Why does she keep telling me that if I find it, that I can return it without penalty?

I am at a loss along with that book. How can I return something that I already returned. And how can she say that she believes me but then tell me that if I find it, I can return it?

Have you had problems with the library like this?
Care to share your stories? Feel free to share you thoughts too.
I am so tempted to go to the library and look for the book myself!
But then, they would probably think that I just found it and turned it in. :|
Why would I want the book that I hated and took me 3 times as long to actually read when compared to my other books?
