The month of our birthday.

But, eventhough there is a month for this, does everybody wants to celebrate his or her birthday. I have observed that some people just ignore this special day and let it passed by without doing anything not even to give thanks for this special day.

How about you, do you celebrate your birthday? If not, how do you spend this special day?

I don't get out of my way just to say Hi or introduce myself to a stranger in a party. I'm just not built that way. Now, there's a study I read that people who have an outgoing personality live to a ripe old age of 100. Whew that's old!... Do I even want to reach that age? I don't think I have that outgoing personality anyway,so maybe I'll die young. Thinking things through, wouldn't that be exhausting and more depressing living when all your loved ones were gone after you?

Woman 106 dies

Do you want to live that long?

I read this obit this am and wondered what it must have been like

To hear this old gal speak of her life

It would be a great history lesson.

"County's oldest woman, 106, dies.
CAMBRIDGE - Washington County's oldest woman, born before the invention of cornflakes, canned beer, even air travel, died Saturday, less than a month shy of her 107th birthday."

I would like to see how future events unfold in our country. I would like to see my son and daughter grow up. Consequently, it is important to have a good diet and exercise. Also, it is vital to keep the mind active. Being old would not be very pleasant if you would lose your memory and your independence in the end. Health and memory are key.

what is the secre of a healthy and long life?

dear friends many people live longer and complete a century of life.

I don't know what I would do, I think I would probably spend my first few days crying and trying to grasp what would be the last of my reality. The reason I am asking this is because one of my neighbors was told he only had 6 months to live. I knew he was sick, I just didn't know it was this serious.

2)a person regarded as being especially enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and skillful in the use of computers

I take exception to this definition in the sense that being a geek is "negative or bizarre". I married a geek and I am a geek! [em]lol[/em] I happen to see geeks in this way: those that are intelligent, not followers of the 'in crowds', unique, dance to their own tunes, don't consider themselves as 'the beautiful people' but are, and are usually witty as well.

Are you a geek as I have described one above?

Geeks are sometimes shy or quiet and have a harder time making friends because of it. If you don't KNOW a geek, get to KNOW one! You will NOT be disappointed and may find your soulmate. Geeks are GREAT! Geeks ROCK! Long Live Geeks!

Tell me about your geek-self or your geek-love! Geeks need the encouragement!

How's Your Brain Doing These Days?

Think you AND you brain can make it to age 115? A Dutch woman did. At age 82 she decided to donate her body to science. When she reached age 111 she contacted a researcher at the University Medical Center Groningen, in The Netherlands, concerned that her body was too old to be useful for research and study. She was assured it was not.

Check the story and see for yourself: http://news.aol.com/health/story/ar/_a/115-year-olds-brain-in-top-shape/20080610100309990001?icid=1615984945x1203971443x1200410500

The article continues to say that currently there are currently 80,000 Americans who are 100 years of age or older, a number that is expected to grow to 580,000 by 2040.

Will you be one of those? Will your brain be in as good shape as the Dutch woman's if you live to be 100 or beyond?

Memo to self: This is an egg. This is an egg on my brain. (C) 2008 RJScott
