I was talking to a neigbour the other nite and was telling him how I believe that you should do a job that you love. He stated that is not true but to me I could not agree with that. I myself feel I do what I like which is being online and learning and earning. SO my question about life is this do you feel a job should be something you love or just something that you have to do? Let me know thanks:) [em]happy[/em]

How many of you have jobs or careers that go against your morals or beliefs?

I recently quit my job as a pizza delivery driver to pursue some hopefully better opportunities where I can work from home and make more money. As I look into my options, I realize one of the biggest problems for me is that so many jobs go against my beliefs or morals in some way, large or small.

For instance, I made a pretty good living on ebay for about 5 years. I stopped for numerous reasons, but one of the biggest is that I came to understand I really don't agree with the concept of advertising or marketing(at least the way it is done these days most of the time). I find even some of the most innocent-seeming advertising or marketing styles to be intrusive, manipulative, and usually misleading in at least some small way.

Businesses research the perfect colors, sounds, words, timing, images, music, spacing, etc. to manipulate you into buying their products or services. It has become basically the standard to do things this way, but does this make it right?

Ok, I've digressed from my original question...

Who has a job that goes against their beliefs or morals in some way? Go into detail.

Who doesn't? Inspire me.

Are you satisfied with your job???

Hey mylotters...

It's the best job I've ever had. Each office is individually owned, and I think my office is the best one out there. I recently called a Home Instead in another state because I was thinking of moving there, and I was appalled at the way they do things there. For one, they do NOT show caregivers they are appreciated. The man I spoke with told me that the caregivers already know they are appreciated, so there's no point in him showing them. How can they know if they are not shown?!?!? That location does not offer bonuses after working there for a year. They also do not hold recognition banquets. They don't offer extra pay for working on weekends, and they don't give out certificates of achievement after working so many hours. My location does all these things. We get awards after working 1,000 hours, 2,000, etc. We also get raises after so many hours worked, which the other location does not do. The pay rate you start at, is the rate you make forever, even if you work there for 30 or 40 years. Can you believe how different 2 locations can be, even though they are the same company?

Do you like your job ?

Weather you are a stay at home mom/dad or you go out and work every day or even a student still in school , this is still your job , do you enjoy your job ? I love spending time with the kids and working on public relations and grant writing. I wear many hats as lots of people do at small private schools.
This coming week, I'm going to re-enter the life of a college student so that I can better do my job.
Do you like your job? tell us what you do for a living. Do you consider it just a job to pay the bills, your life calling, or a career? Would you change it if you could?

do you LOVE your JOB ?

honestly ? i love my job. i work at boost juice bars which is sells smoothies and juices. i absolutely love working here cos its a fun environment as we get to bring in our own CDs from home and we get to dance and sing while working and just be happy and nice to customers to ensure that they come back for their daily 'boost'. if anyone wants to find out more about boost u can go to boostjuicebars.com

I am sure there are many here who are unhappy, and wish they were doing something else, or making more money than they are. Maybe you are still younger and trying to decide what you want in life, or just working your way thru school until you get that degree to get something better.

I know many of us, including me, have our Dreams, wants and desires. Maybe we have just not found the nitch in the road that we feel is best meant to be. But if you are unhappy, are you doing something about it, or are you just there to fit in as the Status quo just to be satisfied with a paycheck coming in to help pay your bills?

I know I am looking and wanting something better. Sometimes I wish it could be by finding a way to do most of it at home, so I can work only part time if I want too. But I also need Medical, etc. so where I am at is working for me for now. It does not have the best of pay, and no 401K so in time if I cannot achieve my other dream, I need to think about exploring other options. But this is where I am meant to be for now. Have you ever thought about where you are at, and is it the Best you want it to be, or should there be something else?
