I'd totally go there again.

I'm really not one for change - especially where i eat. I like the tried and true restaurants...the restaurants i KNOW don't serve something that will kill me.
So that being said... when i decided to try this new place (open 3 weeks now) I stood like a dummy and stared at the menu for a good 10 minutes trying to decide what to get (and making sure it was safe to order food there).

I was very impressed because I was overwhelmed with choices and the waitress was VERY helpful...the prices were reasonable and the food was AWESOME. I left a tip.

How often do you try new restaurants? do you feel overwhelmed with all the new choices? or do you stick to the familiar?

Do you know how to save when get a hotel?

I will give you a few tips for a hotel and hope others will give their tips too. First if you are going to travel if you go past a rest area stop there are lots of coupon books there that hotels use to compete for leisure business. The coupons are a great way to save money. Places on line can sometimes actually be great in prices then what you might get if you just get a rest area coupon because the hotel has to pay the online service a commission. Also when getting a motel with a pool double check a day or two before arriving that the pool is working. Due to fuel costs many hotels will have their pools closed to maintenance always check ahead of time. Also ask desk clerks what is the best tasting and cheapest place to eat they always know. So do you have any tips?

Is this my responsiblity, to carry out as a guest?

The refigerator in our room keeps getting frozen. The freezer tends to ice up very badly. It gets so iced up to the point that we are unable to open the freezer area on the fridge. So, this has happened twice since we have been at the motel. The first time, the maintenance man came and took it out and gave us another refigerator. Now, it has has happened again, and the second time, he told me that they can't just give me another refigerator because it keeps getting iced up. He told me that I will have to get me a cooler, and sit my food in, out of the refigerator. While doing this, I he would take my refigerator and put it on the outside to let it unthaw. He told me that I would have to get some towels to sit the fridge on while the ice is melting from the freezer. So, yesterday, the other guy came back within an hour and he told me that he was going to give me another refigerator. And it comes to find out that this refigerator appeared to be brand new. He took the Energy Guide sign off and some plastic. It smells and feels brand new from my observation. The maintenance man told me also that they can't give me another one, because the same thing will just keep happening like it did with all the other ones. So, if I get another one, the same thing will continue to happen and there was no need for me to have another one. So, as a guest, is it my responsibility is get towels and let the fridge sit outside and unthaw it outside? While all of my food is inside of the cooler? There was two guys present yesterday when I asked about the refigerator being swapped out. The other guy whom was nice came back and gave me another refigerator, while the other guy told me that they can't do that.. If I was home, I may unthaw it like that, but since I am a guest at this motel, I feel that it is the motel's responsiblity to furnish anything that I may need. The refigerator that I have now, has a knob where I can turn the temparture up to the point of my preference. So, that way, I can monitior how cool I want it to be. Doing this will avoid the freezer from getting too iced up. The other two refigerators did not have this knob on it. This is my third refigerator at this time. The other two seemed to get iced up very quickly without any knobs rotating the temparture on it.

I was also wondering, since he told me to unthaw the refigerator outside, I wonder whom towels will I be using? I mean, I don't have any old ones of my own. And, I am pretty sure that the manager would not go for us using their good towels to sit the refigerator on to unthaw out. Is this maintenance guy sure of his job procedure? That seems unprofessional for a guest to carry out. it seems like this should be his job to do since I am a guest at this motel.[em]confused[/em]

do you hold ADVANCED birthday parties?

holding advanced birthday parties is very common in our office. most of us do not live near with each other. a lot of us go home in the provinces during weekends, and stay in a boarding house or apartment near the office during weekdays (office days). so if the birthday landed on a weekend, the birthday celebrant will hold a party on a weekday so the officemates can attend the party. that way, we can all celebrate and still can go home for the weekend break.

also, there are times that the birthday celebrant or some important guests are not available on the exact birthday even if it falls on a weekday like for example on a Friday, so the celebrant will hold it earlier like Wednesday or Thursday.

so do you hold advanced birthday parties? or late birthday parties? ^__^

My friend can't tolerate messy motel

Whenever we plan to go somehwere, my friend must choose the nice hotel, instead of messy motels. No matter how pricey the hotel gonna cost, it won't tolerate those messy motels, especially our recent trip to the myrtle beach. He strongly insisted to rent a beach house, which costed around $2000 for a week. Although I was unwilling to chip in that much money, but to accomodate his needs, I just gave in.
All these fuss because he had bad experience with a local motel a few years ago in a trip to Florida. The bathroom door couldn't be locked, and the bed wasn't nice at all. So, he has hygien problem with all these. I was afraid to drive in the dark especially somewhere quiet and nobody was around. So, I hate night traveling. If you stay in somewhere creepy, like a motel with nobody around. It will freak me out. It certainly is very enjoyable when the weather is favorable. I really enjoy driving long distances, and make stops on the way when I feel like it. I would then put up at motels along the highways. Do you do that too when you travel driving along highways ?
