The movie only had one star. There was nothing else on TV, so we watched it. It turned out to be really interesting!!!

Do you pay attention to raitings, or are you more interested in the movie itsself?

Are you strict with what your kids watch?

Are you strict with how much your kid watches and what is contains? Are you careful not to expose your kid and teen to certain words and situations in movies or are you careful up to a certain age then use certain movies/shows as an opportunity to talk to your child about sensitive subjects?

The New Rating System

I don't know about anyone else, but it's really irritating that everything is an NR. What happened to every movie having a rating and why it's rated that way like it always has been?

As a parent and thinking a movie that looks like a family movie borders on an X rated movie. That's what I get for judging a book by it's cover.

Does this new way bother anyone else?

For Parents-Do You Watch Movies With Your Children If Rated Parental Guidance?

[em]happy[/em]a question to parents, do you watch movies with your children if rated PG or parental Guidance? i just noticed one time, i had this friend whose daughter asks a lot of questions when we were once watching a thriller movie (mummy). the kid asked "mom, why does the man (imhotep) need to chase and kill all the people around?". my friend all of a sudden was speechless, then she gave the question back to me. OMG, i really do not know how to explain it. i just told, "well, he is a bad guy and that is something that is never to be imitated or done by good and nice people like us". then the innocent kid nodded. so, do you as parents do this parental guidance thing when watching a PG rated movie? However TV serials including popular ones like comedies (FRIENDS, Seinfeld etc) and others have a lot of adult jokes, mature scenes, dirty talk etc etc etc and none of them display a warning or rating for the serials before they start. Is this peculiar to the cahnnels I watch - AXN, STar World, Zee Cafe etc or is it the same everywhere?
What do you think about this issue?
I've enclosed a pic of the suggested ratings.

NR Rating...any difference?

My husband and I have watched a few Not Rated movies now, and quite frankly I haven't noticed anything "extra" in them versus a Rated R movie other than some more language. But there doesn't really seem to be any more nudity or sexual references than in a rated R flick.

Does anyone else see this?

This conversation is rated G

Do you use the MPAA ratings to pre screen a movie for your child or family? I have little ones so its G and PG rated movies for our family. I don't push the line to PG-13 because its my responsibility to filter out what I don't want them to see until I think they are mature enough. Does this guide help you pick movies?

Do you think movies are sometimes rated wrong?

I have seena few that I thnk could have been rated R or ones that were rated R and could have been pg 13 I wonder what they base that all on.
