I wasn't fond of Neji my first time through the early episodes of the series, but the second time through I really started to understand him better. However, I was really annoyed to discover that these characters were somehow NOT dead even though they obviously seemed to die in the episodes preceding this one. It's not that I wanted them to die, but it just seemed like a cop out to save them! Especially after they did the whole melodramatic butterfly thing with Chouji, and had what seemed like it could be Neji's ghost talk to Naruto. (I suppose perhaps that's supposed to be a memory of something Neji said, but I swear at the time I thought it was his ghost.) So, any opinions? Were you annoyed or relieved to discover these two survived? Did you perhaps never really believe they were dead in the first place?
