Usually, I just have to wait around 20 minutes or 30 minutes to get the service done. And I would find the non - busy day to do so.
In the opposite, my sister doesn't have the patience for it. She needs to get it done as fast as possible. She ends up with paying $20 more for the express oil change. For me, I rather save $20 less to get my oil change. All I do just get patience.
So, would you rather spend $20 more for the express oil change, or you can wait for it?

How often do you get your oil changed? And how much is it where you live?

I hear that it's best to have it changed every 3 months. I'm not sure how much that is here yet, I have to go out and see. But I was curious what a good deal was, since this is my first time. How much is it where you live?

The Monday that showed up on Wednesday (a post script to my flat tire)

As some of you may know, I had a flat tire on Monday. On Tuesday, I found someone who came and put my spare on for me. There was a nail was in the sidewall of the tire, so I was going to need a new tire, not just a tire repair. On Wednesday, I began calling around to see if anyone had a decent used tire to fit my car. I found a place who said they had one and drove over there after noon, planning to also get a oil change and lube before picking up some groceries and going to see Mom. Here's how it went.

I got to the garage and the guy working the counter happened to be the step-dad to my daughter's friend. He personally took over with my car. Two hours into the wait, they're still arguing about there being a tire on the lot that would fit my car. Finally, the big guy comes in to tell me he's sorry, but he was wrong, they have no used tires to fit my car. So, I end up having to buy a new tire plus the oil change and a quart of tranny fluid. $108.10, to be precise, total. [em]shocked[/em]

Finally, I get to leave and get on my way. By now, I'm hungry, because I hadn't eaten lunch before going over, so I swing into Taco Bell and begin smelling burning oil. Well, there is a car in front of me, so I'm hoping it's them. By the time I get my food, I'm beginning to see puffs of smoke coming up in front of me. As I drive, there is more smoke, more burnt oil smell. I'm thinking, great - they spilled oil on my engine. [em]rolleyes[/em]

By the time I get to where I was picking up the groceries, I'm surrounded by a bluish white cloud that is pouring from under my hood. I pull over and open the hood only to see smoke everywhere, oil everywhere and the oil cap sitting neatly on top of the radiator. S.O.B!!!!! They forgot to put the damned cap back on!! God only knows how much oil I lost. [em]angry[/em]

So, I call them and tell them what I've found and where I am, and I again wait for them to show up and evaluate the damage. Thankfully, I didn't lose too much oil, but they did give me a couple quarts (as well as profuse apologies) just in case to keep in the car. By now, I'm frustrated, considerably late in my plans and have a headache the size of Texas, so I just went home. To hell with it. I called Mom from the house and asked how she was doing and told her how my day was. Thank God she understood. At least I have a good tire on the car and a good spare.

Have you ever had a mid-week Monday?

Doing your own oil change

One way to save money is to do your own oil change. This is something that I've been doing for years. I usually do my own oil changes in the spring and summer months, during fall and winter it's too cold so I take the car in to a shop. Today I went into Autozone to get the oil filter and oil and I noticed they started carrying their own store brand of oil and it's a lot cheaper. I figured I'd give it a shot if I don't like it's only 3,000 miles until I do another oil change. If anyone else changes their own oil what oil do you use and recommend? Have you tried autozones brand before?

Do you do your own oil change or you rather bring it to the shop?

Some of my friends do their own maintenance on the car, and they probably did it pretty good too. Save the charge of labor fee, and you do it meticulously instead of rashly. I don't know how to do the oil change for my own car, that is why I have to bring to the shop all the time with their rip - off charges.

Can you do your own oil change for the car, or you just like me, have to bring it to the shop?

How often do you get your oil change for you Car?

I know it should be every 3,000 miles, well I am really do for one. I am 3,000 miles over. I must get it done as soon as possible, careful, everyone, This is a must, I am going to get mind change this week. I don't want to mess my engine up. Have you had your oil changed lately?

Engine oil, how often do YOU change it? How often SHOULD you change it?

I was given a set amount of miles and/or date to get my engine oil changed but I always stretched it out, because I would forget, and feel guilty about it. Now I am reading, due to the fact that oils are made with synthetic elements, that it is not necessary to change the oil as often as the mechanics would have us believe.

I am sort of glad to hear this!

For example, I know men who don't understand anything about cars, I am not talking about full renovation/fixing, I talk about simple things as changing oil, windscreen liquid, etc. I want to believe that they can at least fill a petrol in their cars!:-) LOL
Anyway, what I want to understand... Why people aren't interested anymore of things they are using daily, they don't care of the process they are getting. I am not saying that I am a car expert but as a woman I know few main things I should know about my car before driving in it.

what is ur opinion abt this--Jeepneys, Passengers and the Economy: by TIM TAYAG

After being cut off by a jeepney for the nth time, I pondered (in between curses) the cause of such lack of discipline in our country. Jeepney drivers, along with other professional drivers of public utility vehicles, don’t’ follow rules because they just don’t. Their excuse is always that they’re just trying to earn a living. But aren’t we all? As much as I spend my time practicing the law of attraction and visualizing my personal genie granting my every wish, I still have to do some physical work to earn money. So why do they have more leeway for not following traffic laws? Why do red lights not apply to motorcycles? Why is the Clean Air Act not implemented on buses? Why are one-way streets not relevant to taxis? Why?!!Most critics of the government will blame the lowly traffic enforcers. They don’t implement the law and they take bribes. Maybe they are partly to blame because a friend of mine was able to bribe her way out of a ticket by offering an umbrella and a deck of cards. I personally gave payola in the form of a chocolate bar with a small piece bitten off. The guy was that desperate and so was I. But what about the passengers? When commuters flag down a cab or hail an FX in the middle of traffic or on the island in the middle of EDSA, aren’t they responsible for the congestion they cause? It’s like the age old question, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” Are undisciplined commuters causing jeepneys to be reckless or are the jeepneys heedless to begin with and therefore the passengers just follow? So what does this have to do with our economy? Hold on, I have a metaphor approaching. The jeepney is the Philippine economy. It stops inappropriately, it swerves, it’s overcrowded, and it badly needs an oil change. The government is the traffic enforcer. He’s underpaid, he’s criticized, and he’s got a big belly. The commuters are the Filipino people. They b*tch, complain, and blame the economy and the government for the situation and yet they cross the road to get on board despite the large sign that reads “Tawirin Makamamatay”. And the government leaders are riding in their SUV with their “wangwangs” and police escort (no metaphor here). So who’s to blame?
