I knew as a department was planning something for her in advance, so I asked her a few weeks before her birthday, what was her favorite chocolate?

She explained they were the DOVE chocolates, and since she was a movie person as well.

Anyway I bought her a birthday card, some of the DOVE chocolates that had Happy Birthday messages on each individual wrapper, and I gave her a blockbuster $6 gift card.

She was estatic about the gifts and enjoyed them thoroughly, she immediately ate some of the chocolate. And of course she was going to What do you do to bring a smile to someone you know?

The b-day card cost $1.50
The chocolates cost $3.48
The Giftcard didn't cost me anything as I had received it as a previous gift.

The total I spent on her birthday was $4.98 with tax $5.27 or so..

The reason why I gave her the Giftcard to blockbuster is because I already have a NETFLIX subscription.

I got her two of the most favorite things that I know she likes to do in her spare time. How do you think I did?

In need of a personal shopper

Is it just me but does anyone else find it really hard to find clothes that actually flatter you?
I have watched so many programmes about dressing better, for the entertainment value, but then it always leaves me thinking that maybe I'm like the people on those programmes.
I don't wear terrible clothes or anything but nothing I wear is something that people would think 'wow, where did she get that? she looks great'.

Does anyone else have this problem and does it bother you?

If you have a skill

If you have any sort of skill that you can share... like technical knowledge, retail sales, manaement experience, yo may want to take a look at liveperson.com. You can put your skills to work for you at your own pace and set your own rates. They do not take money to set you up - they take a commission from your paid clients. They do most of the advertising and book keeping for you to earn the commission. I've been with the for a year and really like it.

Many thanks to a lovely Scots daughter

Hello Friends

Yesterday when I picked up my mail I found a lovely

postcard from my sweet Scots daughter and her family.

It was so nice to get it as I was in a funk and it lifted

my spirits immediately!

Some time ago I had a very juicy dream about being on a

laid out kilt with a handsome Scot. Our own Mummymo has

been on a quest to find him for me. The card had a variety

of handsome kilt wearing Scots but alas..they were all too

young for me. So I will say Mo keep looking Darling and

Thanks for thinking of me. lol

I've Been So Spoilt LOL

My daughter took me shopping on Friday afternoon for my birthday treat, she is 21 and said she wanted to treat me. Wow was I spoiled. She knows I don't like shopping very much, I tend to buy more for others rather than for me. She grabbed at least 6 items each time and came with me to try on and most got put back, complete honesty, no you look 20 years older in that, no too tight, oh wow mum that looks great. I came home with a whole new wardrobe including underwear too and felt really pampered and like a million dollars when I put the whole new outfit on to go out the following evening. Oh how I love her and she was just so happy making me feel good to. When they were little I always imagined these sort of trips and now they are happening for real. Do you go shopping with your daughters? Or do you have a friend who will honestly tell you 'if your bottom looks big in these LOL? Please share. Or knows someone who has one? I wouldn't want to do the whole gift buying, and interior shopping. If I could do it, I'd like to take a step back in time when the grocery store would deliver the groceries to your house. I love grocery shopping, but that mall stuff.,, oh no, someone else can have that. But if I could, I would love to do that. Whether rich, poor, old or young, I'd do their grocery shopping for them. Of course as with anything else, I'd give the seniors a discount, and even the poor people who use food stamps that dont drive or have transportation. Do you know how much they spend in taxi's to do their monthly grocery shopping? Anyway, what's your take on this? I just gotta find out what the laws and license stuff is.

how often do you shop for groceries?

and what is usually on your list?

not officially but unofficially

Do you find yourself being the personal shopper for people in your life, your sisters, mother, brother, friends? I find that I do it on a regular basis. There are no real tangible rewards but I am glad I can help. What I don't like is when they don't pay money upfront and I end up having to spend out of my own cash for items. That part I can do without! Or when they get the wrong item and have to send it back, that's a real hassle and a big inconvenience, because I'd rather not have to deal with customer service personnel as I find most of them to be very unrelenting! They don't like to have to take back their products! And I don't like having to deal with that! This month I ordered toner for my brother-in-law from the same company I ordered previously, also for him, and apparently for this second order they sent something different that is not working in his machine, so now I have to try and get an RMA and hope it's not too late for it to be returned.

How Can I Become A Personal Shopper?

I have been told that I find extraodinary gifts for people every holiday. I love to shop! How can I turn this into a part-time business? If you could tell me any of the following, I'd greatly appreciate it:A. How Do I Start?
B. How Much do I charge (flat-fee or hourly)?
C. What's the best way to market myself?
