GASSP, better known as Project Porkage did in fact cut a couple slices from the bacon but they were modest at best considering the size of the almost 1 trillion dollar bill! I feel so bad for the starving movie producers who will not get their 246 million dollar tax break and probably will have to cut their profit margin just to buy film--NOT! Even though a couple cutbacks were made, they were more than made up for by more porkage add-ons!

Here is the article:

I really hope it doesn't pass we will be paying for this one for years. This package will not get me to go shopping that's for sure. I don't even see much about job creation in this package. So what do you think a bunch of pork or what?

6.6 Billion Dollars In Pork Spending In Failed Bail Out

The failed bill can be read under my heading read the bill for yourself,if you read the actual bill there is 2,322 pet projects tucked inside the bill this adds 6.6 billion dollars of pork barrel spending that had nothing what so ever to do with bailing out the greedy of wall street or even main street Actually this 6.6 billion dollars is simply more of the fat cat's greed, billions of dollars in their pet projects to take back to their home states.
I know people are blaming the republicans because the current bill failed this morning, somebody forgot to mention the 2,322 pork projects has been a real hot issues for days on capitol hill.
I tend to look at it this way if the demarcates really wanted to take care of the American tax payers on main street then why have they add pork barrel spending at the tune of 6.6 billions in to this emergency bill.

Clyburn's name is adorned on 14 seperate buildings, monuments, and roadways ranging from the James E. Clyburn Golf Center to the James E. Clyburn Intermodal Transportation Center, some of which were funded by federal tax dollars. Hardly a prudent use of taxpayer dollars to say the least. However, Mr. Clyburn has some work to do if he wants to gather as many namesakes as Senator Robert Byrd (Democrat), who has an amazing 34 monuments, roads, bridges, and buildings across West Virginia named after himself. Do these people think they are "Gods" or "King"? Do these people actually think that our money is well spent for their glory?

Pork Barrel Spending Report just in. What do you think?

Well the yearly report just came out on the stupid things our government spends OUR money on.
Take a look at it
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/04/02/pork.spending/index.html

11.7 Billion, yep with a capital B. Anyone who does not thinks both sides are the problem really needs to read it.

"The Democrats were behind 5,199 projects worth $5.5 billion, while the Republicans earmarked 3,408 projects worth $4.4 billion, the citizen's group said.
And in a sign bipartisanship is not dead, the two parties jointly backed 2,518 projects worth $3.8 billion"

"To qualify for the Pig Book, a project must meet at least one of these standards: it was requested by only one chamber of Congress; was not specifically authorized; was not competitively awarded; was not requested by the president; greatly exceeded the president's budget request or the previous year's funding; was not the subject of congressional hearings; or served only a local or special interests"
Which means wasted money. OUR wasted money. Yet for some reason we just sit back and keep taking it. Everyone hates Bush. Well I can understand that. But why not hate congress and senate too. They are just as bad as him (including two currently running for president). When will we DEMAND that our government start being responsible with the money we give them. And if they have PROVEN themselves to be untrustworthy with our money why do keep electing them back into office? Really at some point WE have to take responsibility for OUR actions. We vote them in, we let them get away with it.
What do you think?

Not to mention we still have a "do nothing" congress.

While you are funding it, start the audits you used to talk about doing. You could do that without passing a bill that could be vetoed.

the war in iraq

was this war necessary?
