Forget that the African-American man is a professor at one of the most selective universities. Forget that the mayor of the city that this arrest took place is also an African-American man. Forget that the Governor of the state that the arrest took place is an African-American man. Forget that the President of the country in which the arrest took place is an African-American man. We are told that Democrat victories are the key to racial harmony. That Republican promote racial discourse. I must point out that this arrest only happened in the most Democrat controlled city, maybe tied with Berkley, CA. I must point out that that this happen in a state that does not have one elected Republican in a state wide race, or one Republican congressman. Do you think that we live in a more racist world or a ignorant multicultural fantasy world? I personally think there is more racism because people seem to have more choice to be racist about. I feel that the world we live is more open to multiculturalism but, at the same time has several unresolved racist issues among races. Instead of dealing with the root of the problem of a person not liking someone simply because the color of there skin is still a issue that won't go away. I think that because there are more races getting together its becoming more of the norm you see it on tv, magazine, everyday life, but I also think that because of this melting pot people want to think that racism is gone. Many have heard about the Raw Deal that some Indian Students are getting here. (by the way this is another Cultural Group who are doing the attacks.) Me, I'm what you would call a WHITE MAN, who comes from a place many will never Visit due to the distance one has to go to get here (travel), (Australia.) Many think I speak funny even though it is English, and maybe my Cloths are different, and yes there is Food I eat here that many would find different and may wonder how I can eat it. If I was to Travel deep into China, India, or into the Jungles of Africa, Many of the locals would never have seen a WHITE MAN let alone an Australian. These people would point at me, make funny faces, I would be something they would stare at.The Children would most likely hide and peep around the corner at me. Why because I am different, I would not find this to be rude or RACIST. Nor would I complain that this was happening to me. So why is it when we get people from different Cultures and beliefs here in Australia, We are called Racist, when many do the same as those from over seas in the lands I have spoke of. What I do find here in my Country is that many who come here to live also bring their problems from the old Country and their HATES and they show it here, Instead of the new life they continue to be that same as at home in the OLD COUNTRY. I do not understand, why it is not ok for white people to have pride in their race, and not be considered racist., yet African Americans can... I think that our country has gone so far to repay the debt of slavery, that they have forced "non-minorities" into a situation where they are being punished for the color of their skin. Lets start with the obvious. Black history month. Its an unfair, racist celebration. I fully understand that slavery was wrong, but it was not the only thing that wrong nor was it the worst thing to happen in American history. Its not fair to every other race involved in the world. What about the Native Americans? They had their land stolen, were forced to leave all that they knew, were killed off because of land, and forced to live in small camps. Hmmm, sound familiar? Most people dont even think about them anymore. But they have suffered the most in this country. Where is their month? Another thing that angers me is reparations. Everyone knows that slavery sucked. No question about it. But you also have to look at it from a modern view. If black slaves were not brought over here, where would todays Africa-American public be? Still in Africa, where disease runs rampant, education is useless, food is scarce, medical attention almost obsolete. Yet here, they prosper. On that same note, "minorities" have many rights that "non-minorities" (ie white people)could never have. There is an entire organization just for black people. But if whites were to start an organization for the betterment of their race, it would instantly be shot down as racist and forced to shut down. Scholarships. African- Americans have ready made college chances. There are funs made specifically for black college students. You could never set up a scholarship just for white people. This state of reverse racism has even crept into television. B.E.T. Black entertainment television. Where is the white entertainment television? Now I know what a lot of people are gonna say about this. Yes, there are things that are more often white than not, but its not exclusive to white people. Now before I start, let me say that we are white. I have been taught to believe that all are equal in the sight of God, but my husband does not. He seems to believe that we all are descended or came out of Africa, and they are superior to us, or at least, I get that impression. Like he wants to watch movies where the lead actor is black to show how tolerant he is, while I just like to watch moves no matter who the lead actor is. Now today, he had a blood test, and there was this guy who was in his sixties like us, and white like us, and my husband did not say hi to him, but when this black man in his late twenties was leaving, my husband said hi as if to show that we are nice people and not descended from evil slave traders, lynchers, etc. Well this guy just gave the "I hate white people" glare to us and I told my husband he had wasted his time that the guy did not want to say, hi or smile back.
