Did your hard disk have a partition on it like Drive C: and Drive D:, most people don't aware about this matter, just in case if you don't have a partition and you save all your file or you data inside My Documents folder then if the windows cannot start normal cause you have to do formatting you data will be get lost. But if you save it inside the other drive (like D: drive) when you format the C: drive the file on D: drive will not lost. This is pretty useful if you don't have a cd burner or you only have a small capacity usb flash disk.
