I have a vehicle that is only worth 10k outright, 7k with trade in, and owe 15k. I really don't want to trade in and absorb the cost because I cannot afford another payment. I don't need the car so I would just like to get rid of it. I haven't talked to the bank yet about my options but I don't think it will sell outright very well either due to some damage and performance issues. Any advise on what to do? Thanks

I have no idea what to do....

We have a vehicle that won't pass inspection and we can't afford $500 to get it fixed. We think we want to just sell it. I have no idea how to get attention to the vehicle (considering we can't drive it, without inspection). We have it parked in our driveway and will put a for sale sign on it but we don't get much traffic on our street. Does anyone know any online sites that we can post it on to try to sell it? If so, how does the site work? Does it cost anything to post things for sale? We don't have the money to list it in our local paper, otherwise we'd do that. Thanks in advance.

Ebay Selling Disaster !!!

I just had my first selling disaster on ebay... I sold a car (which is not a cheap item to sell). The buyer only contacted me after I contacte him A WEEK after it sold. He said that he couldnt make it in the next couple of days could I wait..I said fair enough...A week later when I contacted him, he replied that he couldnt afford it ????. I said that would have been nice to know that to begin with, why bid on it ??. Anyway He has left negative feedback on my profile - he has ruined my 100% positive feedback. I checked out his profile and he has brought a whole heap of stuff....Why do people do this..Someone else has missed out on the chance to buy this car, what an a$$hole. Just frustrated !!!!

Selling your vehicle

I'm going to try to sell my vehicle in the next few days. I've never done this before, and I'm not exactly sure how to negotiate the price and the best way to advertise. Has anyone else sold their vehicle on their own, rather than trading in? Also, I'm considering selling on ebay, and I'm pretty familiar with ebay, but not ebay motors. I'd love some tips! We've decided that it's not very useful to have my car anymore--I use it about once a month and will not likely need it when I move to Seattle.

After I sell my car, we will still have my boyfriend's car, and that should be just fine. Even though it's older, it has fewer miles and is in better shape, and also gets better gas mileage. We also really do not need two cars for both of us. We've also been joking that there's no way anyone would steal his car in the city because it's so funny looking (a 1991 Dodge Colt--aka, the red rollerskate).

Anyway--I have to somehow get rid of this car. We've decided that we are likely going to sell it to this auto place that takes most cars and fixes them up--if they'll take it. I really don't know how else to go about it because I don't feel comfortable just selling it to some other person. It also seems like that would be a bigger hassle and more time consuming. I really just want it out of my hands, and if I get a bit of money out of it, then that's wonderful.

It's a 1997 Saturn, with over 134,000 miles on it. Something is wrong with it, but I don't know what exactly. Sometimes it starts, and sometimes there's no reaction at all when I turn the key. When that happens, it usually starts up just fine a few hours later. It's unreliable, and I can live without it, so I don't want to spend the money to fix it. The electric locks also stopped working last weekend.

Do you think someone would still want to buy that?

What have been your experiences in selling cars? Or your experiences in buying cars from other people? Do you have any suggestions?
