These children were not loved, cuddled, kissed or any kind of human contact really, due to the fact that they had this disease and the ignorance about AIDS/HIV that the Thai people had..and may still have..
Avis found a little girl, with no name, who was very ill and decided to take her home.
I wont go into the documetary too much as I think you should take the oppurtunity to watch it for yourselves and feel and see the impact that this lady and her family have had for these beautiful, deserving children, who only wanted what every child should have....Love x
The child was adopted by Avis, even though she wasnt expected to live and they called her NIkki,....this eventually turned into her massive mission of opening a home for these children and caring for them, loving them and giving them what they need.
The home named Nikki's Place, Agape Home Thailand, after Nikki of course, who mind you is still with us and doing well:), was opened in 1996 in Chiang Mai, Thailand and continues to grow and run purely through donations and sponsorships. They even opened a school room for the children n 1998 to help give them an education.
There are now numerous projects available to sponsor, and volunteers are very welcome!!
I urge you to please have a look at the following website to see for yourselves what wonderful things they are doing there and what you can do if you'd like to help this amazing place!!!
Thank you:) xxx

It would have made my life easier. Because of the language barrier I wasn't able to enjoy my life in Thailand to its fullest because I refused to learn their language. As a result it gave me so much trouble especially in business transactions--trips, banks, asking for discounts etc, etc. I lived there for seven years and just learned how to count and say where I am going.

social work

well friends... i am interested in sponsoring a child irrespective of male or female. Please let me know the names of such organization to whom i can contact.I will be very much thankful to you.

She is involved with someone for nearly 2 years now, and they are talking about getting married next year some time. He lives in the Caribbean (Barbados) and she lives here in Canada.

Just recently, her ex boyfriend (who also happens to be her first love), who also lives in the Caribbean (he lives in Virgin Islands), has asked her to marry him so that he can legally be in Canada. And he's willing to pay off all her debts and give her a large amount of money for her troubles.

She is VERY confused as to what to do, because she has wanted to marry her first love ever since they were teenagers, BUT she does love her current boyfriend and really wants to be married to him.

The ONLY reason she is contemplating saying yes to her ex, is because she knows how badly he wants to come back to Canada and she and him are still very close friends even after being apart from each other for over 12 years. She doesn't mind being responsible for him for the next few years as his "sponsor" because she knows he won't do anything wrong (he's been in Canada before but had to leave because his visa was up), the thing is, she doesn't know how long she would have to actually stay married to him before she could file for divorce from him.

Some people have said its a minimum of a year, and some say its abit longer.

Her problem is...her current boyfriend. She can't tell him about the proposition because he will never agree to it, and she's thinking about doing it behind his back, and getting a divorce before the time he moves to Canada next year.

Do you think she should help her ex out or should she just say no and concentrate on her current boyfriend ?

(oh and before anyone says anything, yes , she realizes "marriage of convenience" are somewhat illegal, but considering she has been friends with her ex since they broke up, and DOES still hold feelings for him, its not hard to prove that its based on love. They still call each other often, and regularly write to each other, and if you were to read the letters between them, you'd think they were still a couple. The only reason they broke up in the first place was because she was still in school and he had no choice but to go back to the caribbean)

Thanks in advance for your input

What ways are you seeking out companies? I am actually trying to put together a team and need to find the best way to find athletes. I put a place up on our forums for people to post their sponsor me videos (link below) But I really need to find a larger pool of skaters than just our current customers.
