I just came across it. It made me laugh and I had to share...

My daughter is gearing up for a "big game" this week at school.
She's making posters and stuff.

I guess she decided to make a tombstone for her opponents so she asked me to google images of tombstones so she could get an idea of how to draw one.

One of the images we came across was the tombstone of an athiest.

It said...

Here lies an athiest...
All dressed up and no place to go.

It made me laugh out loud.

Does that make me a jerk?

lol

can't help it.

I'm really not anti-athiest, I just thought it was funny.

Belief in diety

What reason do you think people have for their belief in any gods?

Why, why, why???

Why there are athiests who denies the existence of God the Father, the creator of heavens and Earth? Isn't there existence in this world not enough for them to see that a powerful and a living God created them? God created human for a reason which is for the human to abide the laws that he set for us. And there are more reasons for us to believe in His existence. So, why, what is their reason why they deny the existence of God?

I just finished reading the bible for the first time in my life... wow

i dint think it would be like this..
its almost as if someone made a story from a bunch of random life rules.
literally, its a story that preaches rule after rule.
and its not like the rules have anything to do with anything, they are completly random.
a modern day book on morals would provide evidence for what it deems moral or immoral.. the bible just tells you.
for example, theft is wrong, because if everyone did it, it would be illogical to steal... partly because the item would once again be stolen.

i find it wierd that people 'believe' or 'have faith' in this book. by no means does it seem holy in anyway...

also, it was a pretty hard read.. partly because of its randomness.. but also because there was no real literal flow from one topic to the next.. it was kind of like a 'blog' - like the one im typing now.

i find it hard to believe that anyone would take this story literally..

btw, i havent even read the old test. yet... and since the new test. was such a waste of time, i dont think i will be reading the old one...

i did not learn anything: time and time again christians told me to read it before i crit. it and not just take out specific points in arguments.

im done debating religion.. its cuz religious people do not use logic to back up their points, they use faith... it took me a while for me to realize this.. partly because, ironicly, its so illogical to have faith over logic.

anyways.. thats it.. what a weird world we live in.. its hard to believe that this is the best 'selling' book ever.. hmm, why not a good book like atlas shrugged?

Warning... you might not like this discussion

Okay, I am just going to put this out there because I think it should be said and I know I will get crap for it, but I like crap, I guess.

For those of you who are going around responding to every freaking comment someone who does not believe in your God writes, trying to tell them they are wrong, WHY DO YOU DO IT?

Really, I would like to know why it is that when it comes to this one particular subject you feel the need to tell everyone who thinks differently than you that they are wrong.

Somehow I do not think every atheist is searching for discussions about religion and replying to every comment that praises God saying the person who wrote it needs to take God out of their heart...

When someone responds to me and says "God bless you" and all that other good religious stuff I don't say a word. I respect them.

So, please someone explain to me, what's the deal?

Does the existence of wickedness and of suffering prove that there is no God?

Does the existence of wickedness and of suffering prove that there is no God?

Is it reasonable to conclude that since wickedness and suffering exist, that then there is no God?

Suppose we looked around and we saw men with long hair. Would that prove that there are no barbers? Or, if we see homeless people that there are no architects?

Does the fact that knives have been used to murder prove that no one designed them? Is the use of jet aircraft to drop bombs in time of war evidence that they had no designer?

Or is it rather the use to which these are being put that is causing grief to mankind?

Is it not true that much disease is a result of man’s own poor living habits and his spoiling of the environment for himself and others? Are not the wars fought by humans a major cause of human suffering?

Is it not also true that, while millions suffer from lack of food, that there is more than enough in other lands, so that one of the underlying problems is human greed?

All these things give evidence, not that there is no God, but that humans are sadly misusing their God-given abilities and the earth itself.

So ok, there is a God but does not the existence of wickedness and suffering prove that God doesn’t really care what happens to us humans?

Consider the evidence: The Bible tells us that God gave man a perfect start. (Gen. 1:27, 31; Deut. 32:4) Man’s continued enjoyment of God’s favour, however, depended on obedience to his Maker. (Gen. 2:16, 17) If man was obedient, he would continue to enjoy perfect human life, no sickness, no suffering, no death. The Creator would provide man with needed guidance and would use His power to safeguard mankind against any calamity.

But man rejected God’s guidance; he chose the course of self-rule. In trying to do something for which he was never designed, he has brought calamity upon himself. (Jer. 10:23; Eccl. 8:9; Rom. 5:12)

Yet, over the centuries God has been patiently seeking out those who, because of love for him and his ways, are willing to serve him. He sets before them the opportunity to enjoy all the blessings of which they have been deprived because of man’s imperfections and misrule. (Rev. 21:3-5)

The provision God made by means of his Son to redeem humans from sin and death is a marvellous evidence of God’s great love for mankind. (John 3:16)

God has also set an appointed time when he will destroy those who ruin the earth and will cause lovers of righteousness to enjoy life in harmony with his own original purpose.—Rev. 11:18; Ps. 37:10, 11

So let us continue to endure a little longer for soon wickedness and suffering will end, and then a blessed life will be ours, not just for a little while but for eternity.

This is a simple question but the answer might be complex. I want you to tell me if you blieve in God or not. If you said Yes, tell me one reason why. And if you said no, tell me one reason why not? Deal?

I never asked to be born and will never forgive God for that either.
And I don't see why I was created just to be concerned with the whole Jesus thing, I don't see why there is anything I should be asking for forgiveness for.
Thats one of the reasons I just can't believe in a God. Nothing is fair in life.
That, and I think reincarnation is more likely.
But if there is a God I wanna kick his *** and send him to hell for everything he has done to people who never asked to be born.

are there atheist on mylot?

I just finished responding to a friend on my lot who claims to be an atheist, and this led me to wonder if there are other atheist on mylot. Well i really don't care about that much because God has given us what we call free will, you are free to do what you think within your heart can help you to get to wherever you decide to go after you die.Atleast one fact is sure we will all die one day, so where do you think you will go after your death. many of us believe in evil and good but we deny the existence of forces resp[onsible for it

He has left you to have a depraved mind , so that when you do foolish things you really don't know they are foolish things.Look at the chaos in the world all because we will not do the right thing. he gave us rules we brake the rules at will as if he will benefit from those rules. When he said you should not steal. he does not have a furnish appartment that you can rob. when he said you should not commit adultery he does not have a girlfriend or wife that you can sleep with. DO not kill can you kill him.......

All these are just to make us enjoy the best of life .you now act stupid thinkng that you are purnishing Him when you are only purnishing yourself and your neighbor. whether you like it or not your feelings o, believe or lack of believe in Him does not change who he is, he is God.
