But I bought a working machine for 50 cents at a garage sale, and now that I am in the ranks of the unemployed, I have some extra time on my hands. I downloaded the user manual of the machine, and have bought some thread. I plan on taking a bunch of old t-shirts and turning them into a blanket of some sort. I also need to sew some patches on my husband's pants.

If anyone out there sews, any words of wisdom to a novice just getting started?

Do you Carry a Tote Bag? How do you Carry it?

I love Tote Bags. Most of my bags are Tote Bags. [em]lol[/em]

A Tote bag can be used to carry any number of things. I like it for its flexibility. It’s the kind of bag that can be used over and over again in day-to-day living. People really just want something that is one big compartment and they can dump their stuff into, and that basically describes the Tote bag.

There are many different ways of carrying a Tote Bag. Guys also tend to carry it differently from girls. (Yes, I've seen many guys carrying Tote bags)

I usually Carry around my Right Shoulder. If the strap is short, I'll just Hold it using my Right Hand. I am a Right hander so I guess this is the reason why I always place my Tote Bag on my Right hand side.

So, do you Carry a Tote Bag? How do you Carry it?

LOL

I came up with this the other day, when I was hanging laundry out, and couldn't find my clothespin bucket.
I had been wanting to get a clothespin bag to hang on the line. While I was hanging up laundry, I had a brainstorm. Watch out world!!Why not use a small tote bag. So that is what I did.

Can you come up with another use for a totebag?Lets see if we can number them and see if we can up with 101 different ways to use those totes we have laying around the house.

Let's try to number them to see how far we can get!!!

I bet we will all learn something with this exercise.

A question about sewing...

I want to make a simple tote bag, but every patern I've come across says I need 'webbing'. What is webbing? Here is an excerpt from the article I'm talking about.

You will need:
2 - 20" pieces of 1" wide webbing. The length of the straps may be varied to meet your needs or desires. Carefully use a lighter or candle to gently melt and fuse the raw edges of nylon webbing to prevent it from unraveling. If you are using cotton webbing, zig zag or turn under the edges of the webbing when you are attaching it to the bag.

a worth-buying bag??

what do you think about this bag??

Something that is quite big, suitable for groceries. I have learned to crochet with American terms.
