Mostly the 4 by 400 but any kind of track relay is exciting. There is nothing better than an exciting 4 by 400 relay. Ive seen many in my time. The US on the International has the best team traditional. They hold the ecord at 2:54 and many times close to that. That eam included then World record holder Butch Reynolds, and Ucla alums Steve Lewis and Danny Everett.
Michael Johnson the world rcord holder in the 400 meters anchored many relays while at Baylor in college and anchored the US teram in two Olympics. The current US 4 by 400 relay team led by Jeremy Waringer, David Neville, Angelo Taylor and La Shawn Merrick ran a 2.55.3 at the Olympics.
Other exciting relays are the 4 by 100 relay, the 4 by 200, the sprint medley relay which includes an 800 meters, 400 meters and 2 200's. Also exciting are the Distance medley and the 6400 meter relay.
I look forward to one day see a Distance medley or 6400 meter relay between the countries of Great Britain, Kenya, Ethiopia, and USA it will be exciting.
What your most exciting relay rememberences?

Is he human

Ok there is this runner who keeps breaking his own records. Is this guy human or on some serous steriods.

Jamaican Usain bolt broke his own world record today in 200m race of 19.9 sec which he broke last year. On sunday he broke his own again in the 100m by .11 sec. I guess his name says it all bolt. I guess he is a bolt of lightning. I hope they don't come with a story he was on steriod.

Do you like watching track and field activities?

The Berlin 2009 world track and field championship is going on. My freshman year, I almost made States in the Triple Jump (seems not a lot of people are familiar with the Triple Jump)
I also qualified for State qualifiers in Long Jump.
Running?
Definitely a sprinter :) :) :)
What about you guys?

Is USA sprint dominance at an End?

USA sprint dominance may be at an end based upon the electrifying and record breaking Olypimcs of Jamacia's Usain Bolt. Bolt has plastered the records in the 100, 200 and ran 3rd leg on the record breaking 4 by 100 relay team.

Bolt blitzed a 9.69 in the 100 and a low 19 in the 200 meters.

I believe the USA, even if they had not dropped the stick, would not have been able to competer with Bolt's Jamacia in the 4 by 100 with them shattering the mark of the Carl Lewis led team. Jamacia ran 39.10 in the 4 by 100 relay.

I do not forsee any change in results in the upcoming World Championships of Track and Field to be held in Berlin, Germany in August. And possible, the USA has a chance to lose the 4 by 400 to Jamacia if Bolts decides to run on that. At 6'5 and with long strides, its possible, he could run a low 42, which would be hard to beat, if he has any help, which he does.

It will be interesting to see what will happen. Stay tuned.

Olympic great Lewis says track is in trouble

BOSTON - Nine-times Olympic champion Carl Lewis said on Saturday the sport that made him an international celebrity has hit hard times.

"It's in trouble," the American told reporters at the USA Track & Field indoor championships in Boston, his first appearance at such an event in a decade. "When I see poker and I don't see track and field on TV - that's a problem."

Lewis, the most outstanding sprinter and long jumper since Jesse Owens, said the sport has partly been tainted by scandals that have stripped some champions of their titles after they tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

"The vast, vast, vast majority of (the athletes) do the right thing, they don't take drugs," Lewis said. "They want to do it right.

"That's what really bothers me...there is a minority that create problems for the sport."

Still, the 45-year-old Lewis urged today's track and field stars to clean up their act in other ways if they want to boost interest in the sport.

If so, how was your experience? How long did it take you to train? And do you have any tips for someone just re-learning to run again?
