[em]lol[/em] What in the world was so scary about that? Rubber monsters, bad disguises, etc. The movie was "The Tingler" starring Vincent Price, a perpetual favorite of mine and it was made in 1958 I think. Anyway, it scared the crap outta me when I was about 10-12 and saw it on "Chiller Theater".

I also watched "Die, Monster, Die" with Boris Karloff, another movie that caused me many nightmares. Again, I laughed and giggled and wondered why I was ever scared.

Have you watched movies that scared you as a child, and wondered what you could have possibly been thinking at the time? Are there movies that still scare you?

horror movies

which is the best horror movie u ve ever seen?? which one wud u recommend ppl to watch ?

There is no one talking about alice??

Alice Cooper is the best to listen to while making love!!! One of my favorites is House on Haunted Hill. We bought it on DVD a while back and as an added bonus they gave some background on the original movie done back in 1959. It turns out that when the movie was first shown they actually had doctor's standing by for ppl that couldn't handle the scare. I was amazed... especially after watching the movie. It doesn't even come close to what we see now in movies.

I wonder if over the years we haven't become so used to seeing the horror, blood and guts that it no longer fazes us to see it all the time.

Could you imagine what kind of movie they would have to produce to actually have doctor's standing by in the movie lobbies now? I honestly don't think they could make anything that scary anymore...we've all become too accustomed to being scared by the movies.

If they did make a movie that scary, what do you think it would have to be about to get to that scare height? Maybe something my Wes Craven or Stephen King??

!!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Professor Henry Jarrod (Vincent Price) is devoted wax figure sculptor for his museum in 1910s NYC. When his financial partner, Matthew Burke (Roy Roberts), demands more sensational exhibits to increase profits, Jarrod refuses. In retaliation, Burke torches the museum for the insurance money, leaving Jarrod for dead. Miraculously, Jarrod survives (though his hands and legs are rendered useless) and builds a new House of Wax with help from threatening deaf-mute sculptor, Igor (Charles Bronson). The museum's popular "Chamber of Horrors" showcases both famous crimes and more recent ones, like the murderer of Jarrod's former business partner by a cloaked, disfigured killer. Burke's fiancee Cathy Gray (Carolyn Jones), is also attacked. But when Cathy's friend, Sue Allen (Phyllis Kirk), visits the museum, she makes a discovery that leads to the horrifying truth behind the House of Wax: it is full of murdered people coated in wax.

I'm curious about this film, I want to watch this. I think this is also as nice as the House of Wax 2005 staring Paris Hilton and others.

House of Wax

This movie is one of my all time favorite horror classics. I think it compares far more than the original which was Mystery Of The Wax Museum released in 1933 starring Glenda Farrell, Lionel Atwill and future scream queen Fay Wray. The release featuring Vincent Price is definitely a lot darker than the original. In the original you have a roving reporter trying to get a story and bits of comedy. Charles Bronson joins the cast starring along Vincent Price as his mute apprentice Igor(every horror movie from 1930-1960 I think had an Igor hehe;) ) We also get to see one of the main victims being played by Carolyn Jones(Morticia to all you Addams Family fans.)

I'll have to admit I can't watch this one with the lights off. I've got something against creepy looking wax figures who might quite possibly be real people. I think the special effects are really good, even the real people who are playing wax figures do a good job on staying still.(the original I dont think an attempt was made to even use wax figures)

I was just wondering what people think of this movie? have you seen the remakes? care to comment about Vincent Price? I noticed this isn't listed as anyones interests but hopefully someone will respond I'm a true classic horror buff.
