Gil Grissom left the series. I personally think, Laurence Fishburne is doing a good job filling the void Petersen has left. I think it was a good idea that Fishburne's character "Raymond Langston" was a rookie and is still learning the ropes of the job. It's more interesting that way. What are your thoughts?

Who will replace Gil Grissom next season

With confirm reports that William Petersen will leave CSI in the middle of the season 9. Who do think will replace him as Supervisor? Would catherine step up on that position? Would there be another person whould replace him.

WILLIAM PETERSON (Grissom) leaving the show

CSI star says goodbye. now it will not just lose the a star or cast but CSI is losing its main man. i saw it on yahoo news. William said "My biggest problem with leaving the show at any point isn't leaving Grissom," said Petersen, whose previous leave of absence came when he took five weeks off to do theater in Rhode Island. "I'm an actor, it's time to do other things. "[The hard part will be saying goodbye] to the cast and crew. [So] I'm going to stay as involved as I'm allowed to be throughout the remainder of this show. Until they turn off all the lights.". this is another blow to all the CSI LAS VEGAS fans. what are your views about this? what can you say?

i dont know about you but he MADE the show!! i wont watch it after he is gone.. its bad enough when sarah left and now warrick!! nope.. no one will be left worthy of carrying the whole show if you ask me!!

The Emmy Awards

So who watched the Emmy Awards last night? Were there any surprises for you? Anybody win who you wanted to win?

I thought Josh Grobin was amazing running through 30 television theme songs. The Ricky Gervais gig with Steve Carell was hilarious! Don Rickles was pretty good too.

I was surprised to learn that Laurence Fishburn is replacing Grissom on CSI. I don't know how I feel about that. I guess time will tell. (Yes, I did a search and found that it was mentioned in a previous discussion that I had missed originally).

I am happy that The Amazing Race won yet again for best reality show. It has won every year the category has been on the Awards. As for best game/reality show host - Jeff Probst won. As much as I like him, I think Tom Bergeron and Howie Mandel are more entertaining.

As usual, being in Canada, there were shows that I had never even heard of. Are they shown only on US Cable like HBO? Like Damages... never heard of it. It was 3 or 4 years of watching The Sopranos win before Canadian television picked up the series.

Year after year I am continually surprised that shows like Law & Order and CSI aren't in the running (sure, the probably won special effects awards in last week's arts presentations [em]rasp[/em]) but I really think these shows are deserving of nominations and I am disappointed every year when shows I have never even heard of are nominated instead of these excellent shows.

What do you think? Did you enjoy last night's show? And how about that Jimmy Kimmel, eh? [em]lol[/em]

He will miss some episodes like last year, as he will be on the stage in Chicago in the fall. Sorry don't know how many episodes he will not be on yet. He received a large raise in salary to stay.

I hope the person that steps in for some episodes is great. No names have been mentioned yet, but I will miss seeing William as he is great as Grissom.

Anyone have any idea who might be a choice for a short period of time?

CSI: When will it be Grissom's turn?

Hello CSI fans. I was just thinking last night about how bad things seemed to have happened to all of the main characters, except Grissom.

Sara was tormented by the miniature killer and left out in the desert to die.

Nick was buried alive by that wacko guy and had bugs crawling all over him.

Katherine was date raped, her daughter was kidnapped and her father was killed right in front of her.

Greg had the crap beat out of him from that gang of hooded wackos.

So, what's happened to Grissom? Did I forget something from a previous show? I didn't watch from Day #1, but I've got all the DVDs, and have watched them all. Is there something I'm missing?

Even Brass had a problem, and that jerk Eckley ended up with his job.

Help me out CSI fans!!!

New series, Grissom being phased out?

Is it me, or in the new series are they slowly getting rid of Grissom?

Or changing the charcter so he is less and less likeble.

The Without a trace episode seems to stand out as the worse example of this.

He had a sense of humor, which seems to have gone.

csi or csi:miami?

which csi series do you think is the better of the two?

although csi:miami is the more flashy of the two, to me it feels like its still missing that little something that the original csi has over it. i dont know what to call it, but it lacks a certain seriousness to it. even though the original has lost some of its kick from earlier on in its beginnings i still think its a better show overall.
